Yes, these are such fun, lighthearted books.
I love all the characters in this series. The mystery keeps you guessing. There are moments that just make you smile or laugh out loud. The recipes are nice too.
Absolutely. It catches the listener's attention from the beginning and will leave you yearning for the next in the series.
Brian and Ferika.
Hawk's interaction with one of the orphans.
The narrator did an excellent job and as always added another dimension to an already fabulous book. As a listener you will become completely immersed into the story and setting. The Christianity is subtle, yet powerful. As always this book is exciting from beginning to end. Looking forward to more by this author and narrator.
This narrator did an excellent job. Easy to understand. Pronounced difficult names with ease. Never lost interest. Great tone, enunciation and inflection. His voice has a distinct richness.
Obviously the Bible is the best book ever written and this will remain true forever. One exceptional feature of this version is as each chapter begins, the narrator announces the book and chapter. I listen to this daily and never tire of it.
So many things. I enjoy books about the Amish as they seem to increase my joy and peace. This was such an uplifting story of two deeply wounded people, who finally come back to life. Mrs. Woodsmall does an excellent job telling the story and developing her characters. Beth and her Aunt Lizzie were amazing as was Jonah and his brother Amos. The scenes just unfold before your mind's eye.
She did an excellent job with the entire narration.
Enchanting, heartwarming, uplifting
The narrator was excellent. The stories built on each other so well and blended nicely together. I loved how God worked throughout and the special bond between the 4 friends. I'm looking forward to more by these authors.
A wonderful story. Difficult choices to be made. Trying to do God's will. The grace of God. The romance was heartfelt and the characters came to life. I plan to listen to more by this author. The narration was good too.
This was an engaging, riveting story.
The submarine encounters. I also enjoyed the developing relationships.
The suspense and narration were excellent.
I loved everything about this book. The setting, the time period, all of the characters.
Amanda. Her faith was amazing throughout this story. Also she was willing to learn about new cultures and ways.
She was easy to understand and I never tired of listening to her.
I'm hoping this is a beginning of a new series.
Definitely. By listening I'm picking up even more than by reading.
The narrator did an excellent job. I listen to this for hours at a time and never lose focus or interest.
All of Mrs. Lewis's books are excellent.
I really enjoyed Tessie. She had such a strong presence to do the right thing.
She did an excellent job. My husband listened to the entire book, too. This was due to the talents of both the author and narrator.
I've always loved the setting of Hickory Hollow. I also love the Wise Woman. I admired the character of Mr. Smucker. Looking forward to more by the author and narrator. Enjoy!
Memorable, engaging, suspenseful
There were several moments. One was the captivity of Z and Dean.
This was the first time I listened to him. He did an outstanding job, perfect for this book. I never tired or got bored listening to him.
The most moving moments for me was Z's ability to maintain her faith and not grow bitter through all she endured and witnessed. Her faith never faltered.
I love all the books written by this author. She does wonderful research and her books are realistic. Her words are so descriptive the listener is transported to the scene in the books. The narrator added an extra depth to a wonderful story. I also enjoyed the setting of this book. All the characters are memorable.
