Not enough action, I could not get interested in the characters
Art is subjective, I love Van Gogh but I hate Picasso. I'm just into more fantasy, some action, some humor, and escape reality. His story sounds to much like my job.
it was short
My friends have very different taste. They're reading 50 Shades of Grey, I like to escape my day to day life and reality. This story would be a favorite with much younger people. Young romance with a young naive heroine with a soap opera love triangle. Sometimes funny sometimes sweet. An interesting world tour of mythology, culture, a fantasy curse woven into our current world's culture. The author, Colleen Houck a fellow Oregonian, leaves the end of each portion of the story with the hook leaving you with the need to get your hands on the next story to see what happens next.
I usually only listen to one story a month, (I have a 45min drive to work) but this story kept me listening even after the drive home. so I have gone through 3 of the books this month; we'll see how long I can hold out before I break down to download the 4th book.
Needless to say I ENJOYED this book. This will go into my library to be pulled out and enjoyed again.
Anne McCafferty's Harper's Hall of Pern, The young Menolly succeeds despite adversity of her culture to hold females in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant.
Tad William's Dragon Bone Chair. The young hero overcomes obstacle after obstacle while you cheer him on to reach his goal.
A story can be brought alive by the skill of the narrater to create the characters. Annika and Sanjiv gave distinct personalties to the characters in the stories.
Book 4 is next. The love triangle has a solution, and what will life after the curse be? :) Just have fun with the story.
