    What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Better story. More context on the ongoing war, the English claim to the throne of France, and the Black Prince's total warfare raids which made him such a devil to the French


    What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    I was disappointed; no longer cared about the characters. The violence seemed formulaic, almost like Patricia Cornwell's has become.


    Any additional comments?

    I have read or listened to every book Bernard Cornwell has ever written, so as a big fan I was disappointed in this effort. It was almost as if he was mailing this effort in. Worth listening to only in the hope that there is another coming in the series.
