This is the story of the rise of China through one journalist's 3000 mile trip down route 321 across the heart of China. Gifford looks into the evolving socialist society with Chinese characteristics as evolves from a very government controlled society as it struggles towards more openness under the fourth generation leadership. The characters Gifford meets along the route paint a hopeful story tainted with tragic remnants of the past that continue to hold on such as the HIV communities swept under the rug and the enforcement of the one child policy.

Great introduction into the Zen philosophy. The idea of always approaching things with the beginners mind instead of the closed minded self absorbed know it all.
I had no idea Floridians owed so much to Flagler for the ambition to persevere at all costs did to develop the state. Beyond Flagler's Folly of the line to Key West he put Miami on the map. The stories of survival and tragedy for those in the eye of the storm was a gripping read.
The man behind the curtains delivering on the dreams and passion of Jobs. It would have been good to get more insight from I've himself but it was still a great read into the man and his insane sense of style and commitment to deliver at all costs.
A truly tragic yet inspiring story of a young man with insane skills on the baseball diamond who has fought his entire life with the demons of addiction to drugs and alcohol. Here's to Doc as he continues his struggle to slay his demons every day one day at a time.
A very brutal look at the haves and have nots through the magnificent storytelling of Vonnegut. The lottery of birth in full force as the new generation of old money drinks buckets full from the river of wealth while the 99% of the other half struggle day to day to live. Very nice twist at the end though. Very thought provoking read.
Disruptive innovation is driven by companies with a creative mentality rather then just an execution mentality. The insights in this book about gaining a wide exposure across industries and cultures to look for links that are not that obvious is intriguing. The idea of a vu ja de event where you truly see and grasp new insight in something you have been looking at for years due to knew perspectives is a very powerful idea.

Certainly not a fully balanced look at Hillary's political history but proves she will be a force to be reckoned with in 2016. She will have to over come her age and Bengazi, but she will have the momentum of history on her side and a network of supporters consumed by getting her in office.
