I thought I was getting a book on current events. The book was published in 2007. I should have looked first. Not what I was looking for.
I didn't know if I would like something so detailed and long. But I thouroughly enjoyed it all. Everyone has thought the Nazi's were crazy, but this book reveals the details. Hitler and his close cronies were nuts. Seeing the history unfold reveals a lesson the world should learn to prevent this kind of thing from ever happening again.
There was some good information here. And I wish a lot of my "god believing" friends would listen to this. But the informaiton was too elementary for me. I knew most of the material and felt like I was in a highschool science class.
I loved the way Ian goes back to the very begining of man - Out of Africa. It was very informative to me to get this broad persopective on the evolution of our race and our society. And he makes a very compelling argument for what the next 100 years will bring. Loved the last chapter.
