    Having listening to over 800 books over the last 19 years, this is the first time I have written a review....This book was over touted and a big fat disappointment. I wonder what the writer really wrote and what the editor published. It did not bring a smile to my face, let alone a laugh. The narrator was dull at best and did not bring the characters any life. I was previewing for my book club and it will get a NO!

    What was most disappointing about Janelle Brown’s story?

    Full of cliches, could not warm up to any of the characters...no wonder her husband left the family. I was not the least intrigued and had to make myself finish.


    How could the performance have been better?

    Story was dull


    If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from All We Ever Wanted Was Everything?

    I would have added, not taken away, as it was down right boring.

    wish I had not wasted a credit. I was looking for a new author to follow, did not find it here.

Patty was the ideal sort of neighbor, who could tell you where to recycle your batteries and how to get the local cops to do their job. She was an enviably perfect mother and the wife of Walter's dreams. Together with Walter - environmental lawyer, commuter cyclist, total family man - she was doing her small part to build a better world.

    When I have to bribe myself to listen to a book, I know I am in trouble. I have to care for at least one character in a book...not this one! I have listened to over 600 books since 1990 (yes I started with cassettes) and I have given very few 1 stars...if there was 1/2 star or 0 I would not waste a full star on this stinker.
    I should realize by now that just because Oprah liked it, does not mean I will find enjoyment. Spend your time and money on the new Ken Follett novel, Fall of Giants!
