Psychic M.J. Holliday finds herself in a witchy situation. When M.J. and her friends travel to a small town near Edinburgh, Scotland, to film the first installment of their new cable TV show Ghoul Getters, they find plenty of spooky action in a series of supposedly haunted caverns. But when they discover the body of a maintenance worker, the cause of death is reminiscent of an old legend involving a witch's wrath.

    Overall

These series reminds me of the Scooby-doo cartoon more and more. Gillie is the Shaggy type, MJ is Daphne, Stephen or Heath can be Fred and you can fill in other characters with misc ppl. The same, "It was.... all along!" typical Scooby-doo ending. I'm not saying this to knock the story - because I enjoyed it. It's just very Scooby-doo

What disappointed you about Just Like Heaven?

No character development (i.e. characters had not discernible personalities), no chemistry what so ever in the romantic leads, premise of story lame. Watching paint dry would be equally entertaining.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Boredom

I liked the first half of the book - it was a unique take on a romance. But after a while Maddy's narrow view of the world and the feeling that she was right about everything despite the fact that she was naive and actually didn't know much of anything. It gets tiring after a while to go back and forth with her sensibilities being ruffled and her going off in a huff without getting a good grasp on the situation before hand. Her character did not progress or develop in the story until the very last part of the book

Would you try another book from Emma Chase and/or Sebastian York?

    Probably not

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

    Create more interesting characters

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The basic outline of the story doesn't have a lot to it - the guy is a horn dog - meets his match - fucks it up - wins her back - the end. Yawn. Didn't feel there was any chemistry with the characters and the main characters had nothing particularly likable about them. Not that I disliked them but the didn't draw me in

Helen Decatur spent a lifetime setting goals—getting through college and law school, opening her own practice, becoming financially secure and establishing herself as one of the most highly respected matrimonial attorneys in the state of South Carolina. Achieving those goals was a breeze compared to the one she's faced with now.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I probably wouldn't. I found the pushy, nosy friends and the commitment phobe love interest annoying. The whole story seemed like an outline of a story not a real fully thought out one. Nothing different really happened in the book. Friends pushy, Male Love Interest making sure its known he wants nothing serious and then some event happened toward the end of the book to make the lead couple admit their feelings and live happily ever after.

Do you think Feels Like Family needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No - this was too boring and predictable to expand upon

Lauren is downtown Chicago's youngest elite realtor. She's also a witch. She must be - the fetching spell for Witches' Chat isn't supposed to make mistakes. So says the woman who coded the spell, at least. The tall, dark, and handsome guy sent to assess her is a witch too (and no, that doesn't end the way you might think). What he finds in Lauren will change lives, mess with a perfectly good career, and require lots of ice cream therapy.

Brilliant and ambitious dressmaker Marcelline Noirotis London's rising star. And who better to benefit from her talent than the worst-dressed lady in the ton, the Duke of Clevedon's intended bride? Winning the future duchess' patronage means prestige and fortune for Marcelline and her sisters. To get to the lady, though, Marcelline must win over Clevedon, whose standards are as high as his morals are...not. The prize seems well worth the risk-but this time Marcelline's met her match.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story line is pretty cliche for historical romances. Strong willed woman - dashing man, obstacle and then they get together. The story was passable enough to listen the entire book but not enough to entice me to listen to another book in the series.

For when Gabrielle witnesses a murder outside the club, reality shifts into something dark and deadly. What disappointed you about Kiss of Midnight?

I gave this book ample time to show some promise.but there was no character development - no whisper of a story line forming - just every cliche vampire story line you can find. There is no chemistry between the romantic leads. I gave this book 8 chapters to capture my interest and it just remained lame.

What was most disappointing about Lara Adrian’s story?

The lack of one and the cheesy dialogue

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    No redeeming qualities

It's a lousy first day on the job for Nina Blackman. A patient, loopy from the anesthesia, bites her. At least he was cute. The next morning, Nina wakes up with a set of razor-sharp fangs, bionic vision, supersonic hearing, and a taste for blood. But there's a good explanation: It's her patient, Long Island vampire Greg Statleon. Is Nina willing to commit to one man for eternity, even if they are perfect for each other?

This book ended in the middle of the story. The villian was easily/quickly foiled and Nina never learned and/or explored her new powers. There was so much more that should've been expanded upon but wasn't. That being said, it was otherwise an enjoyable listen that kept me entertained.

Would you try another book from Jerrica Knight-Catania and/or Sherill Turner?

    Probably not

Would you be willing to try another book from Jerrica Knight-Catania? Why or why not?

I wouldn't likely try another book by this author because there are too many books to spend my time hoping the next by this author is interesting. This book lacked any semblance of an engaging story.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

If there was a real plot aside from a few secrets being kept and forgiven

What made the experience of listening to Perfect on Paper the most enjoyable?

The story progressed nicely and kept me engaged. I liked that the storyline was on the light side where you can just sit back and enjoy.

What other book might you compare Perfect on Paper to and why?

If you like this book you'll like anything written by Molly Harper.
