"Aweful!"
4 hours into a 10 hour book and the 2 romantic leads still have yet to have any meaningful interaction. They're association is barely better moved along then it was at the beginning of the story. Additionally, their personalities are so uninteresting - as much fun as watching paint dry. There really was nothing engaging or entertaining about this book what so ever. After wasting 4 hours I couldn't bring myself to listen to the rest. I gave the book more then enough time to pick up and become good.
A more interesting storyline, relationship of the two leads progress faster, have the leads actually have a personality beyond shy and or uptight
Sure
The sheriff interested in the female lead
I will never get a book from this author again
"Say what?"
The ending, left too many questions unanswered/resolved so it didn't feel like a complete story as a result.
Incomplete
Sookie just seems like a really weak minded female and it gets annoying. How can one be so conflicted with a circumstance she was OK with for years? She acts like everything is a surprise when its in line with everything she's experienced before.
"Unexpected Ending"
I liked the storyline, it held my interest. The ending was unexpected and very welcome because the ending of the last book was so disappointing. For those upset about the last book they should really listen to this one before passing judgement. Everything ties together in the end.
"Disappointing Ending"
Yes, enjoyable story
I will reluctantly listen to the listen to the next in the series - but the ending of this one ended one of the main storylines and you never get the happy ending you assume was meant to come.
When Merit wants to sleep next to Ethan.
"Half the book is setting up the story"
Most of the book is setting up the story and it really doesn't get good until the last quarter of the book. The first half of the book really feels like a waste of time
I was disappointed that just as the book was starting to have action and a progression in the storyline - it ended with an unresolved problem
"Redundant"
This book spends too much time going over the sisters' histories needlessly. It seems like the author didn't have enough to make the book long enough so she just reiterated information we already knew about the characters.
Don't re-hash old info
eh
I wish the characters had more going on in their lives, personalities and everything in general then sex.
"Very Enjoyable"
I really liked this book as it was entertaining and engaging. I enjoyed the mystery unfolding and the budding romance. I didn't find it predictable - though maybe others solved the murder way ahead of time, but I wasn't just trying to enjoy the ride and not solve the mystery. I liked that Laurie is going slowly with the budding romance and isn't having them jump between the sheets ASAP. I definitely recommend this book and I look forward to listening to the next in the series.
Waiting to see how the mystery was going to play out. Wondering if she and dutch were going to take it to the next level.
"Waste of time"
Probably not
No, just turned off to the author
Well, she's good at creating distinct characters
Annoyance. This book was one giant excuse to have a ton of sex scenes, I know entirely too much about Olivia's crotch area. The story is weak and there is no romance or romantic chemistry between the lead characters. Crazy how Olivia's best friend, Patrick, was so quickly extracted from her life after they were so tight for years. A lot of the things seem a bit random and don't make sense. The only reason I gave the book 2 stars overall instead of 1 is because I could bring myself to finish it.
"Blah"
I like the premise of the story. That the story didn't evolve more during the book
This whole story was a set up for the next book. I kept waiting for the story to evolve into some interesting conclusion but it ended like a dud. In a series - there has to be a complete story and then a cliff hanger for the next book. It shouldn't be one giant set up for the next book. I won't be listening to the rest of the series.

There has to be a follow up book as this book was one big set-up for the next book

"Another good one!"
I always enjoy Susan E. Phillips' books - her stories are engaging and she doesn't go about romance in a stereotypical way. You know the 2 people that are going to end up with each other but not how - so it's entertaining.
