    What did you like best about this story?

    I think the author did a great job of capturing the feel of the depression era as well as the small town setting for the story. The relationship between the two main characters was well defined and engrossing.


    What does Mark Bramhall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    The deep timber and slow delivery, suggestive of a southern drawl helped define the story line. The narrator did a very nice job with the southern accents.


    Any additional comments?

    As mentioned, this book had glitches, The sudden dropping out was jangling considering the intensity of the dialogue. Good story, well written, didn't want to stop listening!

    FOR RENT: Top two floors of beautifully renovated brownstone, 1300 sq. ft., 2BR 2BA, eat-in kitchen, one block to parks and playgrounds. No broker's fee. Susan and Alex Wendt have found their dream apartment. Sure, the landlady is a little eccentric. And the elderly handyman drops some cryptic remarks about the basement. But the rent is so low, it's too good to pass up. Big mistake.

    This book had an interesting enough plot to hold my attention but the writing needed to be tighter. Plot lines were left dangling never to be resolved. The author used the same phrases (it seemed a lot of the characters
