This was a hard one to get into. I almost returned it as this story and how it jumped around so much from stories almost lost me. It grabbed me when the Grandmother started telling her story and then I was hooked. Fantastic narration and just grabbed you with her heart breaking saga of being in a concentration camp as a young girl and how she survived. The ending just kept getting better as it all came together. I'm still not thrilled with how this author threw in a few chapters of who is this and how does this connect with the story, but at the end you find out. It's a great 4 star book with a 5 star narration from this group. WOW!!
The story was very unusual and gripping. The narration by both people was amazing. Zachary Webber was really great and I'll look up others that he narrated now. It sucked you in and I just loved reading about how Sidney and Ridge's relationship became so personal and deep. BUT,, as I got towards the end of the story, there was an hour that was dragging and got way too deep into the heatbeats, breathing, sighs, etc. It had me until that part. I loved how Coleen Hoover wrote the majority of this story, but this part almost ruined it. The ending was much better and it moved on. It's worth a listen and a credit.
I liked the storyline, but a lot of it was a bit too over the top and at times I caught myself shaking my head thinking,, No way. Not believable. The Narrator exaggerated the characters way too much. She over acted I guess is a good way to put it. It would be much better to read this yourself.
This story had me in tears and laughing all in one. I was so happy to finally see Preacher fall in love. The romance between them was so sweet and touching. I loved the way he protected her along with the rest of the town. You will be hooked with this one too.
I will listen to the entire Virgin River Series. Can't wait for the next one.
I have not listened to any of Nicholas Sparks books before. I will purchase another one if they are anything like this one. I was sucked into the story with every fiber. The relationship between Sophia and Luke, from beginning to end, was so sweet and I loved Luke's personality. January LaVoy made him so sexy with her narration and did such a great job with Sophia also.
The other part of this story narrated by Ron McLarty was so sweet and well done.
The two lives of these people and how they came together was one of those "on the edge of your seat and can't stop listening." I thought I knew but then it just got better and more surprising at the end. The ending was Fantastic!! So well done. LOVED THIS ONE!!
I liked the first book of this Series. The story was very good and this author knows how to write a Sex scene. I love to listen to anything Kate Rudd narrates. Benjamin Darcie is ok but he needs to stay away from doing accents.
I wasn't crazy about this second episode. It just didn't seem to be very exciting or draw you in. I don't think I'll purchase the 3rd one in this series.
This series of books are so easy to listen too and really just takes you away, which I think that's Robyn Carr's purpose. This story of Mel and Jack is so sweet. As Therese Plummer narrates this, which she is one of the best at all the voices and characters, you feel the heartache, emotions and the love in this story. I love this series and look forward to listening to all 17 books.
I couldn't get into the story at all since the Narrator's voice was so "old" sounding. Way too raspy and not in a good way. As you listen to a book, you try to visualize what the characters look like and I couldn't get close as this raspy old voice ruined it for all the women young and old. Trying to visualize the Men in this was even worse. She made them sound like they were all 90 years old and dumb. I Love Robyn Carr books, especially the Virgin River Series, but this one I can't finish. I guess I might have to read it if I want to finish it.
I wasn't sure I wanted to read all three, but each one was better than the last and the story of Hope and Ryder was fantastic. I figured it was going to be a predictable story and but it was funny with a few twists that keep you laughing and entertained. MacLeod Andrews must have gotten the message at how bad he was in the first Book. He was so much better in this one and didn't make the kids sound so awful. I'm very glad I went ahead and purchased this triology. Great Job Nora Roberts. Some of her books are too empty, but not these.
This is so well written and narrated. It's touching, funny, and very heartbreaking what these women go through in life. I love the way the author used the past and present in this and how these women became so close. Get your hanky out, you'll need it in several places. Worth the credit and them some.
