I wasn't sure why so many reviews gave this 5 stars. I liked the story and the narration was great. It had many slow parts when this character was trying to find who did this to him. I got a little lost at times and lost interest. The first part of this book was fantastic and then it lost me and the end was great again. So it was a good listen. Just not 5 stars.
I loved each of these books in this Triology. Even though it was so sad at times I don't remember when I couldn't wait to get back to listening to this story. This narrator, Kate Rudd was so good with all the characters and the emotions and personalities of every one came through so well. You will catch yourself tearing up, gasping, and getting so attached to Emma.
This series of books is for all ages.
I can't wait for Rebecca Donovan to write another one.
I am emotionally drained after listening to these 3 all in a couple of weeks. WOW...
I got this book on sale and since it had so many great reviews, I bought it.
I have never been so pleasantly surprised with a book on sale before. Usually they are so so. I loved this story even though it was sad. Emma does frustrate you in this story but you eventually understand her. I don't like how they leave you hanging in the epilogue.
It isn't clear what happens. Good thing I can't wait to purchase the next book in this series. I couldn't put this one down. WOW!!
Where did all the 5 star reviews come from?? I have never been so bored with a story. I want to return it, but thankfully got this one on sale. The author could have made this a lot better if she cut it in half. Way too much useless filler/garble inserted into a scene when your waiting for something to happen with one of the storylines. I kept thinking, "I listened 30 minutes for that?" Nothing happens for hours, but boredom waiting for an OH WOW or whats next?
Awful Awful Awful. I'm so disappointed I already bought the next one by Tana French and I so hope it's much better than this one.
The Narrator was excellant. Whew!
I loved this book. The narrator made this story even better as he played the different characters. I'm sure many of you have listened to boy meets girl and she resists love stories. This is so much more than that. The mystery of who done it and how she made these characters come to life through this wonderful Narrator made this book so much better. I just loved this one.
The narrator Michael Beck made this story 1000% more gripping than if I had read this book. He is amazing and his different accents of all the characters were fantastic.
I loved this story and this was one I couldn't put down easy. I couldn't wait to get back to it the next day where I wouldn't be interrupted. This is a must read/listen.
I went back and watched "A Time to Kill" so I could remind myself of the characters that were along Jake's side in this story. I can't say enough about his one.
The narration couldn't be better and made this wonderful story so much more emotional.
It's a must listen. Sit back and enjoy. And yes, I couldn't put this aside for very long. I finished this in just a few days.
I am a beginner reading Nora Roberts stories. I loved Carnal Innocence and now I am expecting her novels to be as good. This was just ok and left me a little empty. The narrator maybe made it a little more empty with her narration of the characters as they sounded a little scruffy and cold without much personality. I wanted to picture Logan through her narration and just couldn't get a good feeling on that either. I think Stella was a bit too uptight and not enjoyable to picture having this fling with Logan. Just left me a bit empty.
I loved the storyline and bought this right away after seeing some of the good reviews.
After listening to the first third of the book, it went downhill and lost the excitement of the storyline. It began to get boring and Jake's actions began to get outrageous and too far fetched. He ran into too many different people in the story and I began to just lose interest in who was who as he tried to find his lost love. I finished it, but it was one of those, come on and finish this story ending. The ending was awful and left you very unsatisfied. I could have written a better ending and that's pushing it.
Love Scott Brick and he couldn't save it either.
I read a lot of the reviews and figured this one would be a good story.
The narration was ok but a little too harsh of a voice to really sit back and enjoy.
She didn't do a great job on the different characters.
The romance between Eve and Rourke was so cold. No heat at all. J.D. Robb needs to take lessons from Maya Banks and Nora Roberts.
The murder mystery was just ok. It could have been more gripping through out the book.
The last third of the book was very good with a great ending. I almost quit listening but just figured I had to finish and glad I did.
This was my first Sandra Brown book and I will purchase another one very soon. The story was gripping and you find yourself gritting your teeth in fury over what happens to Jade in High School. Through the rest of the story, which is so well written, you get so involved and wrapped up waiting to hear the next saga she goes through in her young adult life. I loved the ending and how she gets back at those who violated her.
The only bad thing I can say about this book is the very last 4 minutes where she goes back somewhere, I won't spoil it, and tries to erase a bad memory. Very stupid move and the only unrealistic thing in the book. But that didn't weigh on the story much at all.
