"Polgera is unforgettable"
This is one of those stories that shouldn't be read without first reading David Eddings other books. I love Polgera and all the other characters from the Belgariad. I am glad to finally learn more about her she was such a mystery that needed solving. David and Leigh are a great team. Dina Pearlman is a perfect pick for the voice of Polgera.
"Watch your back Jane!"
I adore this author if you read my other reviews you already know this but let me tell you something about Christine Hvam. I was undecided about reading this series when I first saw it but I am such a fan of Christine's that it decided me because she was the 1 narrating and I have not regretted that decision even for a second.Christine makes James come to life and fills out be a beast perfectly. Faith has a talent writing good suspense and fast action and Christine has a way of making it come to life for you these 2 ladies are dynamic duo and you won't regret for 1 moment buying this series.
"Beast is amazing!"
I love the Beast/Jane byplay going on in Jane's head while she is talking to people. Beast gets Jane out of trouble and Jane kicks butt. This series can't be compared to any other but I will say that if you are a Kevin Hearne and Jim Butcher fan then this is the series for you. Guys trust me the books are not mush brained love stories. There is something for everyone here just like Dresden and Iron Druid.
"Such a surprise!"
Honestly when I saw this series come up on my surprise sale I was iffy about it. When I looked at the pictures and read the title and then the summary I thought to myself "great another vampire sex book just what the world needs". Boy was I wrong. Jane Yellowrock is not about sex falling in love or needing a man. Actually they all need her. This is such a good book that I went ahead and bought the entire series. Then I bought her other series.the character of Beast keeps the story interesting and keeps Jane humble. everyone that I've convinced to read the series has been a convert and most of them don't even like paranormal or urban fantasy. The narration is spot on I never had to wonder who was talking. I can't wait to see more from Faith Hunter and Beast.
"An appropriate ending"
I have been buying Robert Jordan books and reading them since the first 1 was published I've also we read them on audiobook and loved every 1 of them I was very afraid that after all these years at the end was going to be a letdown.
however this book had perfect narration and execution.
I was raised to the highest of heights and broke down to the lowest pits. I felt loss and joy.
this book made me hope and rethink what had come before. Sometimes it made me cry so hard I had to stop it to catch my breath. Then it would return with something to laugh about. in the end I felt satisfaction. I didn't feel left out left behind or unhappy and that says a lot for last book in the series. Those who have been fans of the series will not be disappointed.
"I really got into this one."
I was really worried upon reading the reviews for this book. People were complaining that it was confusing and difficult to read. But I didn't find that so.
Katherine didn't excellent job of reading.
The story is meant to be fast paced. It's a zombie scary type book.
It's not a love story at least not in classical sense. The authors conveying essence of danger and confusion.
I recommend this book to the apocalypse readers and horror fans. I see the storyline going somewhere and I'm going to follow.
"Perfect Author/Narrator combo"
I'm writing this review after having read all Illona Andrews books to date. And there's 1 thing I can promise you and that is no matter what this author writes you will never be disappointed.
Her (I know it's they but Illona is how they choose to be called and it's female) since of humor shines through everything she writes.
When I first picked up the story I thought to myself that I was going to regret another vampire werewolf story.
I'm happy to say the vampires are not hot they are nasty twisted things. The were-beasts are hot though.
This alternate Atlanta is so interesting and fun I can't stop with just 1 of her stories.
The narration it's Kate perfectly. She has a passion and emotion that comes through every time.
I highly recommend this series to anyone and everyone.
For those of you thinking that you don't want another series full of paranormal sex. Don't worry that's not what this series is about. That's not what Kate is about. You're not going to be hit in the face with naked bodies and heaving breast.
This story is the action adventure and killing the bad guy.
"Joe Abercrombie is in top form."
Everytime I read Joe Abercrombie I am surprised at how much I enjoy his books. If that seems a strange statement then understand that I am not usually a fan of this type of storytelling.
The characters are real not overblown like most in this genre.
I found myself laughing and wanting to remember quotes from the characters.
The action and interaction in this book never left me bored or allowed my mind to wander.
You will be surprised at how many characters you recognize if you read his other books and if you are a new reader you won't be lost but references will drive you to pick up his other books.
I will be looking forward to see what Joe Abercrombie comes up with next.
"WOW! All i can say is "Dude!""
Generally I have found but I don't really enjoy a second series involving spin-off characters from a beloved author.
That said.... OMG! You have to get this! It's MEGA amazing. I thought I would miss Mac and Barrons but I really didn't; the development of the supporting characters from the Fever series is fulfilling.
This book proves Dani is a strong enough hero to stand on her own.
If you didn't read the Fever series I think you can still enjoy this one.
Don't worry the voices and narrator chemistry are still magical.
I couldn't stop listening.
"I can't stop listening."
This is a really interesting twist on epic fantasy.
I admit to being somewhat jaded when it comes to epic fantasy, so I was pleasantly surprised upon getting acquainted with this author. Patrick Rothfuss has a talent for writing characters that take themselves too seriously and yet can see the comedy in things; he then writes characters that cannot seem to take things seriously but are all too serious. Don't take any of his characters for granted there is a point to every one of them.
The mythology turned real and dangerous is the stuff of nightmares.
I will not miss a single book.
"Answers About Dmitri"
I love this book. The rescued hunter mentioned in the previous book is a large part of this one. Dmitri and Raphael's past is made clear. Sorrow becomes a relevant character and may be she will have her own book in the future.
Again what we start out thinking of as a weak character turns out to be all the stronger for her momentary break. Dmitri has a depth that I did not foresee and I am itching to buy the next book.
