"The Book Case" is a story that features Nelson DeMille's most famous (and successful) character, Detective John Corey, who has appeared in six DeMille novels: Plum Island, The Lion's Game, Night Fall, Wild Fire, and The Lion. In this story, we see John Corey in his early years as an NYPD Detective, before he became involved with the Federal Anti-Terrorist Task Force.

Nelson DeMille, Scott Brick and the character they both bring to life are simply the best! I love the look back AND getting something to tide me over until The Panther is released.

Detective John Corey now faces his toughest assignment yet: the pursuit and capture of the world's most dangerous terrorist -- a young Arab known as "The Lion" who has baffled a federal task force and shows no sign of stopping in his quest for revenge against the American pilots who bombed Libya and killed his family.

I was almost late for work on release date (not OK as evil minions do NOT set their own hours!) because I was immersed in the Kindle version and waiting to download the audio book. Scott Brick and Nelson DeMille never disappoint. Amazing! These guys and Brian Haig are the reason I have an Audible membership.

When John Sutter's aristocratic wife killed her mafia don lover, John left America and set out in his sailboat on a three-year journey around the world, eventually settling in London. Now, 10 years later, he has come home to the Gold Coast, that stretch of land on the North Shore of Long Island that once held the greatest concentration of wealth and power in America, to attend the imminent funeral of an old family servant.

I thought I was going to hate this because out of all the audiobooks I have purchased I have only enjoyed Scott Brick as a narrator...particularly of DeMille's work. However, Christian Rummell did a great job and got the sarcasm of John Sutter just right. I had to go back and purchase The Gold Coast because I enjoyed this so much! I listen to DeMille books on my iPod/iPhone constantly because there is always something that will strike me as funny. He lucked out with the two narrators he's had because they definitely did justice to his great writing.
