I have read or listened to all the Jack Reacher stories by Lee Child. This was the most disappointing of them all. Maybe Lee Child was caught up in the movie making of One Shot starring Tom Cruise while he was writting this story. There is much to be 'wanted' of the Wanted Man. It just didn't have the pizzazz of othe Jack Reacher stories. Sorry Lee, but I haven't given up on you yet. I look forward to the next Jack Reacher novel.
The story was a bit confined to sitting in a car most of the time. I like to see Jack Reacher out and about and kicking some ...you know what.
No favorites here.
Sorry to say...but NO
This is no doubt the best Pendergast novel to date. Lots of action, twists and turns and many surprises. Don't pass this one up. 5 STARS
You don't want to put this book down if reading or if listening to Audible you won't want to turn it off.
Pendergast...Rene Auberjonois is fantastic with all the characters.
There were quite a few moving elements to the story but I will not name any in particular. I do not want to ruin any aspect of the story for other listeners or readers.
I hope Rene Auberjonois continues doing the Pendergast novels. He is great.
I have and I will
I would not recommend this book to any but the die hard fannatics of Stephen King.
Now I know what the crew of the sailing ship 'HMS Endurance' went through in 1912
I saw the TV 'Stand' but a Movie version would have to be cut considerably.
Bigger is definitely not better.
After several years of being cajoled by my brother to join Audible, I finally relented and joined up with great expectations.
My first book...'Edge'...by Jeffery Deaver and narrated by Skipp Sudduth has almost required that I cancel my Audible account.
But wait...The book selection was terrific. My brother always has suggested fantastic authors to me and he hasn't missed yet. Since the Deaver book was just issued and as I was looking forward to a new book by him and I had just signed up for Audible, I decided that was the one to try first. Wow, was I disappointed. Not with the story by Deaver but the narrator Skipp Sudduth. It was very difficult for me to tell when Mr. Sudduth changed from one character to another and as I srtuggled through this Audible book I also struggled with whether or not to cancel my account. Then my brother finally convinced me that this was only one book and I should listen to the 'Bloody Jack' series narrated by Katherine Kellgren. NOW SHE'S A NARRATOR. I listened to 20 minutes of Ms. Kellegren and that convinced me to stay with Audible.
As for Skipp Sudduth, I think the publisher should find someone else to read Jeffery Deavers books especially the James Bond story soon to be published.
Please, no more Skipp Sudduth.
