But Brian has spent his whole life being the invisible man, and he's used to looking below the surface. What he sees in Talker is a fragile and lovable human being. Brian is outwardly straight, but Talker is desperate for love, and when Talker's behavior leads to some painful consequences, Brian is forced to come out of his closet—in dramatic fashion.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I love Victor J. Banis' Deadly Series. I hope all of the Deadly books will be in audio eventually.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Deadly Nightshade?

The moments with when Stanley realizes how beautiful Tom was and how misguided his affections are. The mystery itself is really fun. This is for adults.

What about Roy Wells’s performance did you like?

He reads the book, does not really get into the characters but the reading is good and the story is clear.

If you could take any character from Deadly Nightshade out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Stanley, he is a hoot. Fun and tough at the same time. You don't really think about how tough gay men are until you read something like this.

    Any additional comments?

I hope the rest of this series is done in audio.

What did you love best about The Darkling Thrush?

I should state here, that I am not usually into fantasy and other worlds. What I liked best about this story was the fact that it was a mystery within the fantasy and I could follow both the story in the fantasy world and the mystery.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Colin Bliss because he was the hero of the story and Septimous Marx the love interest. Both are interesting characters and fun to read about.

What does Max Miller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

As I have said, I am really not that into fantasy, but Max Miller's rendition of the story was wonderful. His words flowed so well and I felt he knew the characters and represented them very well. When I first read the book, I got a little lost in all of the "other world" stuff. Max Miller makes it real. You feel you are in the world with Colin and Marx.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Fantasy, gay mystery.

    Any additional comments?

I thoroughly enjoyed this presentation and hope to listen to more of Max Miller and Josh Lanyon presentations.

Michael Munroe, I have a soft-spot for female thugs! Love them.

Which character – as performed by Hillary Huber – was your favorite?

I enjoyed them all. Hillary Huber is one of the best audiobook performers that I have listened to. I think she made the book so real for me.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me do both, but overall it is about survival and justice. I also loved the descriptions of Africa. I have not really known anything about it.

What did you love best about Fair Game?

It was a great mystery and love story. The relationship between the two men was highly believeable and the mystery was very interesting. I enjoy mystery and action and this book had both.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fair Game?

There were two moments, the first was when Elliot was being unexpectedly shot at and Tucker came to the rescue and the other was when Elliot walked in and found his neighbor dead in his bed. These two incidents were not the only good moments in the book but I don't do spoilers, although those two scenes could be considered too much info! The relationship dynamic between Elliot and his father is also very interesting.

Have you listened to any of Ray Ramano’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was a first listening to Ray Ramano and I thought the performance was very good.

Who was the most memorable character of Fair Game and why?

It is hard to say, Elliot, Tucker and all of the support characters. The story is written so smoothly that each character is fleshed out pretty well.

    Any additional comments?

    This is a gay mystery.
