Are you sure this wasn't an abridged version with the salient parts removed? There is not much to recommend this book.
A different reader and a different story.
Disappointment. Can't believe I actually made it all the way to the end.
What a terrible book. Can't believe anyone would read more than one in this series. Not many books are better abridged, but this one would qualify. I really felt like I was reading a freshman college student's assignment.
A different narrator.
Anyone could do better: Tiny Tim, Pee Wee Herman, the Aflac Duck...
Haven't finished the book yet and not sure if I will at this point.
Is there any chance this might be re-recorded? I would consider buying it again if it were available.
This is the first modern book in a long time that I believe deserves 5 stars; so good that I gladly waded through the Ben Stein-like narration. Don't know much about the author, but I'm willing to bet he was heavily influenced by Faulkner. Looking forward to reading his other two novels.
Just so much tripe and nonsense from a know-it-all left of center journalist. McManus should stick with poker and Vegas murders. I only wish I could get my money back on this one.
