On a quiet day, away from the hustle of Richmond, in a small cottage on the Virginia coast, Dr. Kay Scarpetta receives a disturbing phone call from the Chesapeake police. Thirty feet deep in the murky waters of Virginia's Elizabeth River, a scuba diver's body is discovered near the Inactive Naval Shipyard.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

What a great story line. Not one of her strongest endings but this writer continues to beguile her readers as we follow the body trail to the irresistible ending. I'm behind in the series and can't wait to read the next installment. In looking ahead I noticed that Point of Origin is not on the audible list. Please hurry and add this one. I'll be there by next week. :)

If you’ve listened to books by Patricia Cornwell before, how does this one compare?

Compared to the rest this one is about a 7.

Which character – as performed by C.J. Critt – was your favorite?

She does a pretty good Marino

Was Cause of Death worth the listening time?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

When will Point of Origin be added?

Dubbed the American Tolkien by Time magazine, George R. R. Martin has earned international acclaim for his monumental cycle of epic fantasy. Now the number-one New York Times best-selling author delivers the fifth book in his spellbinding landmark series - as both familiar faces and surprising new forces vie for a foothold in a fragmented empire.

Would you listen to A Dance with Dragons again? Why?

I would listen to this entire series over and over again. Over 250 hours of compelling drama. With dramatic and sometimes graphic descriptions of events, I was drawn to keep listening for the next step. Perhaps I missed something, perhaps I didn't cattch a subtle twist. Maybe, just maybe one of them isn't really dead. I can't seem to get enough. Please Mr. Martin - give us more and give us a resolution (if there is one). What of Bran, What of Ricon, Where is Jamey, who is the silent knight, will the wicked queen get her just reward,

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jon. So courageous. So young. So head strong yet full of hidden and unknown potential.

What three words best describe Roy Dotrice’s voice?

Lack of depth. His characters became confusing - possibly because there are so many. Hated his vocal on most of teh female characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the queen takes off on the dragon! I could see it and feel her exhileration.

    Any additional comments?

The hard copy books have appendicies which are helpfuk in keeping track of who's who and what's what. I think this would have been helpful for listening as well. I did not care for how the chapters were broken up on the audible. Book four is the only one that had it rightg.

In the late summer of a long-ago year, a killer arrived in a small city. His name was Alton Turner Blackwood, and in the space of a few months he brutally murdered four families. His savage spree ended only when he himself was killed by the last survivor of the last family, a 14-year-old boy. Half a continent away and two decades later, someone is murdering families again, re-creating in detail Blackwood’s crimes.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Koontz type mystery thrillers. No tells a mystery like Koontz. The revelation deep dark secrets and the overwhelming need to make things right make this book a must listen. The final sacrifice is a WOW!

What other book might you compare What the Night Knows to and why?

False Memory - because the mind is a terrible thing to waste. Because the mind can be shaped and molded. But mostly because only the mind really knows these things could happen in real life - given the opportunity.

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when after being possessed by Blackwood, the guy goes to visit his sister and her family. She does not know Blackwood is on board but she knows her brother is an abusive, violent man. Without question she shoots him after seeing him attack her husband. The pace of the book from this point forward picks up and takes on new heights of SUPER NATURAL!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Absolutely.
