"first time reader of Karin Slaughter"
Yes! Had me from the first five minutes. I couldn't stop listening.
I can't say I got too attached to any one character, but Will's boss, can't remember the character's name, was one of my favorites.
Nice voice. Distinct characters.
Can't think of anything offhand. I'm already into a second Karin Slaughter book.
"A MUST READ/LISTEN"
Cassandra Campbell is one of my favorite narrators. She does an amazing job.
There are honestly too many to recount. I got goosebumps at several points. This book really makes you think. I did not want to stop listening. I feel like I know the Lacks family now. Great book.
Same answer as above.
yes.
Take the chance on this book. There was definitely some medical jargon that I'd have to listen to a few times, and probably could go back and listen to again to fully grasp it, but the author does a pretty good job of making it understandable for the person that has very little understanding of science. Just an incredible book and amazing story.
"INCREDIBLE, HEROIC AND MOVING"
I am thinking of buying the print version, that is how much I love this book
I don't know that I can compare it to another book. The book, like the man it's about, is truly a one of a kind.
The narrator was just fine.
Yes.
The author is just incredible at telling Adam Brown's story. I will definitely be reading more of Eric Blehm. Incredible, unforgettable and moving story.
"Picoult is back"
I do love Jodi Picoult's books, except the one before this one. It was kind of awful, just my thought. I really enjoyed all the characters and loved how the story was told.
Again, I have no opinion.
I don't really like this question.
I don't know.
I didn't want to stop listening to this book. I very much enjoyed it and recommend listening!
"WW II"
I might have made some of the names a bit easier to differentiate. Some of the German names sounded too much alike and I was having a hard time following some of the characters. Maybe it's just me.
I don't know.
Dick Hill does an excellent job.
Learn more about the Jewish people. I don't think when I was in school that we were taught about all the atrocities that they suffered.
"an easy listen"
Well, no. I feel once was enough.
It's somewhat sad, but I must say if she thought her husband was cheating why didn't she check the phone records???? I'm not giving anything away here. She checks his messages but never calls the number or thinks to check the bill and call log???? That's the only thing I thought was kind of dumb.
I don't really have a favorite scene.
If I reveal what really got to me, I'll give something away. I'd rather not do that.
"respect for a hero"
A true man of bravery.
I liked the parts where his wife gave her thoughts on what was going on. I really liked this book and can't even imagine how hard our military works. Thank God for them.
Mr. Pruden, in my honest opinion and only be/c I'm being asked, needs to work on his southern drawl. We do not sound that dumb.
I think it is being made into a movie. I'll let the professionals do their work. I'd hate to not be paid for a great tag line. HAHAHA!
I debated a long time about listening to this book. Then when I heard he died tragically in February, I decided to listen. I don't know much about our troops and how hard they work or what goes into being a military wife, or even a military family member, but I do have a lot of respect for all involved after listening to this book.
"DO NOT MISS THIS BOOK"
The story just grabs you immediately and is engaging.
I don't really have a favorite character.
I don't really have an opinion on that. He is a good narrator though. I have always enjoyed his readings.
It made me laugh and cry. I listened to it all in one day.
One of my new favorite books.
"Just Okay"
I found it hard to follow. I am thinking there wasn't enough pause time to indicate changes of thoughts.
No, I wouldn't. It wasn't that great.
I have not listened to Kevin Kenerly before. I would definitely listen to him again. Very good.
Not really.
"DO NOT MISS THIS BOOK - INFORMATIVE"
I think this book was written about me! I know that doesn't help whoever is reading this review, but I'm a textbook introvert. If you ever wonder why people don't like to socialize much, read this book. You'll have a better understanding about who they are.
When the author explains how socializing and small talk can be emotionally taxing. I often feel that way. It's almost painful for me to make small talk. I don't connect on a level of small talk.
Another point she brought up was how introverts seem to communicate better when able to write letters/e-mails than speaking face to face.
There are truly so many points she makes that I completely identified with that I can't even name them all. It's like she knew me for my entire life.

Before you judge ... something along those lines
Very informative book. I think it's a must read/listen. My family is all getting this for Christmas. This book completely explains me and my dad, our personalities. We're not anti-social, we just like our alone time.
"DON'T MISS"
I have recommended this book to a fellow Audible listener. I found it quite entertaining and didn't want to stop listening.
I think this is my first video game-ish futuristic type book. Some of it was confusing to me, but I'm usually multi-tasking while listening. Also the science fiction part would occasionally confuse me :)
I don't know.
No.
I loved all the '80s references, but I'm a product of the '80s, so I could identify with a lot of the names/products he talks about.
A fun listen!
