I saw the movie awhile back and enjoyed it, but after reading the book there is so much left out. This book takes you on a journey through so many lives, and leaves you feeling so close to all the characters. I both laughed and cried while listening to this book. Very much a recommended read!

My niece was reading this book, and was obsessed. This made me think it was for the pre-teen, so I ignored it. It was not until I started seeing the previews for the movie that I thought I should read it because the movie was one that I wanted to see. I am so glad I did! It caught me and never let go. I am a big fan of post-apocolyptic stories, so when I started listening I could not stop. The story is very well written, and performed. The characters are so well developed, which helped when I did finally see the movie. I have read all three in the series, and I can say that I will forever be haunted and enchanted by this story. "Happy Hunger Games...and may the odds be ever in your favor!"

This book is amazing! It paints a clear visualization of the earth, the Bay Area in particular, and how it weathers after a disease has wiped out much of mankind. My Geography professor assigned this book as part of our reading, and I thanked him afterward. This is a must read, thoroughly enjoyable!

This book is such an amazing experience. I am actually really glad I listened to this book instead of read it. The characters in this book are so well read, the voices really brought it to life. On top of that it is strong and moving. This book managed to leave me with both joy and heartbreak. A must read!!

I usually just listen to books while I am driving, cleaning, or doing something that does not require much attention. This book came inside the house with me, and I actually sat down and just listened. It captured my attention from the very beginning and I could not stop. So many hidden meanings exist in this book and so many metaphors can be drawn. This is a book you can walk away from feeling like you may have learned something; a book that will stick with you for awhile.

I could not finish this book, I just could not get into it. Kind of strange considering I did enjoy the movie, it is usually the other way around. The book came across very scrambled. I gave it a couple chapters then just moved on to my next book.
