Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

This is one of the funniest books I have listened to in a long time. I felt as if I was sitting in the audience of a comedy show with Tina Fey. I grew up around the same time so the white denim pant suit totally hits home!! It was a terrific book and I was so sad that it ended. I have recommended it to all my friends and encouraged them to listen to it rather than read it to really get the most out of the book! I even picked it as my book club selection when I host and I am insisting that all my book club members bring a photo of themselves in the equivalent of their "white denim pantsuit" to the meeting at my house.

Marion and Shiva Stone are twin brothers born of a secret union between a beautiful Indian nun and a brash British surgeon at a mission hospital in Addis Ababa. Orphaned by their mother's death in childbirth and their father's disappearance, bound together by a preternatural connection and a shared fascination with medicine, the twins come of age as Ethiopia hovers on the brink of revolution. Yet it will be love, not politics - their passion for the same woman - that will tear them apart.

This was such a good book with so many interesting characters. The narrator was perfect, especially when the characters were animated in anger or in funny situations. His delivery was so good on all of the characters. Even though it was a long book I could definitely listen to this one again! I really didn't want it to end. There were so many interesting twists and turns to the story. A really worthwhile download!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

    "Such a great book!"

I was drawn into this book from the minute it started because of the actors. They did such an amazing job! I can still hear the "old" Jacob in my head when I think about the story. The voice of August was wonderful as well. Some books are just better listened to than read. Its like I'm attending a great performance every time I put my headphones on. It was a wonderful story as well!
