Listening to the actual broadcasts of the King as he progresses, both personally with his speech abilities and historically with the history of his country--just the right amount of footage
The scene before, and through, the King's coronation speech
Bertie's (later Duke and still later King) life as a young boy and young man
I had doubts that I would truly enjoy this, since I had loved the film and worried it would be a repeat. It adds much more to the story. Simon Vance is absolutely perfect as he narrates.
I never review--but I found this book by Robert Galbraith and found it terrific in every way. If you want excellent characters, a sharp, believable mystery, perfect pacing--go for it. After finishing it I immediately went to see what else Galbraith had written. This is his first, and Glenister did the perfect job. I am gushing. Sorry. But I loved the book. Title doesn't do it justice. I hope Galbraith is busy with his next.
Always interesting, always well paced--just good.
Two young women's stories intertwine with the history of WWII, of women pilots and spies, of France, England, Scotland and Germany
Not telling. LOTS of memorable moments--even the small ones.
I think this might be my first. It will not be my last.
No. This is a book I loved listening to every time I got to it--and was glad it was the one on my Ipod.
