I really don't know if this turned out to be a good story or not because I stopped listening after the first part. The audio sounds like it was recorded in the guys kitchen and he is not a good reader as in, no character acting and even worse an inability to stay focused on what he is reading. Pauses and improper emphasis kept me guessing what he was talking about. This type of reading kept me distracted from the story line. Too bad, it may have been a good story but it needs a professional audio production with a better reader.
This is the first audio book that I actually spent time in my driveway after I got home and listened to. It was fast paced and gripping, Vince Flynn keeps your attention non-stop throughout. The narrator also brought great acting skills to the read, he completed the thrill ride. I wish the older books were unabridged as I now want to go back and catch up on this great series. Hope the publishers are listening.
I have to agree with many who have indicated the main character's believability is in question. I expected better from this author. I was most amazed at the third person reactions our hero had to his wife's bizzare behavior. It just seemed to me that a smart software engineer would be more on the ball when faced with a wife who didn't go to the emergency room when their child was extremely ill. This and other examples kept the characters short of plausable and I don't think this represents the authors best work. The books concept was very interesting, too bad it wasn't exploited better.
