I listen to Mitch Albom on the radio almost every day. He talked about his book although I never once heard him say 'this is a great story; you should read it'. He played a snippet of it, and I loved the narration, and thought the story would be better than it ended up being. It just didn't keep me on the edge of my seat wanting more. The narrator was awesome, though! One of the best I've heard.

Weak story. The premise of the story could have been developed so MUCH better, but some people will give any song, story, speech, etc., a high rating just because the "F" word gets used. So much for the continued dummying down of America.

Like so many others, I fell for the hype. Female co-workers told me to 'stick with it'. Well I can't. The story is SO juvenile. The narrator grates on my nerves, but she's just reading what the author has written. I, too, feel I wasted a credit and will remove the 2 remaining books in the trilogy from my wish list. Everything about this book is AWFUL! That there are women who actually think this is good literature absolutely baffles me.

This is a pretty interesting composition on how the human body deteriorates after death. This topic is certainly NOT for everyone, as much of what happens to the human body following death is kind of grotesque; especially if the body is left for dead several days or more. You'll pick up some interesting information on forensics, as well.

Very well written and complete composition of an historic event. I learned more than I ever knew about Abe Lincoln and the tragic end to his life. Very well worth the read.

My comment on the story itself: imagine raised eyebrows and a curled lip. The narration was horrible. The narrator must be a whiner in real life.

Anyone who enjoys reading about raw sex absent a good story line will love this book. Raunchy, high-school-girlish, Harlequin-romance-novel-like writing. I never did complete the listen. It just got boring and predictible.

Huh? Did I miss something? Or is this one of those stories that has to be analyzed to get the hidden meaning? I was waiting for the punch line, and when I saw there were only 28 seconds left, I started thinking, "well, what the hell?" To me it's just some loon mumbling about a telescope.

Although, in general, I really enjoyed this book, I just can't give it 5 stars. After her first couple of attempts at humor, I found myself rolling my eyes with subsequent attempts; and I do have a great sense of humor. Her's was too predictable and not necessary. I also would have preferred that the author wrote with a neutral political/religious bent. I did not like the narrator's tone at all. Finally, and this may be due to the narrator's intonation, I sensed that the author was a bit haughty in her work. That being said, I still think the book is worth listening to.

This story was enjoyable enough to listen to the whole thing, but not so good that I want to hear it again.
