Yes, narrator portrayed characters far better than print did.
I have listened to this over and over. When I can't find anything new that appeals to me I listen to this or "Mr. Perfect" or " Now You See Me." Linda Howard ha become 3rd in my top ten authors. This booked helped her secure the placement.
No, the characters were dull and didn't have the usual linda howard spark. There were a lot of good reviews and I really needed a good LH book and this wasn't one .
I couldn't find anything interesting about this one.
The narrator made all the characters sound dull and didn't convey any emotions.
No really, I wished I had saved my money and time on this one.
No, I bought the last to books so I wouldn't have to listen to Adam Paul but I thought I'd give him another try and regretted it.
Never! He does females voices very well but the males sound like....a nasally dimwit. I couldn't wait for it to end.
There was very little action and the plot was well written but again I can't get past the horrible narration.
I had read this book long ago and loved it. I did enjoyed reading the book a lot better than the audio version. It is an old novel and you have to keep that in mind.
Ur...can't say anything good or bad about her. She was better than the other ratings said but not by much.
I had read all the reviews and went ahead and got it. I am glad and may listen to it when I don't have anything else to listen to.
The story line had good possibilities but fell short. They would fight and the next second they'd but back together and then they'd fight and the cycle would continue.
No I really thought I would enjoy this but was really disappointed. If there is another on sale I may give it another try but it would have to be a 3.95.
Never listen to but he did a good job.
This is the worst narrator ever. The females sound like spoiled cheerleaders. Just for reference if reading about a demon making you see a pitcher of blood instead of beer, she made it sound like a Valley girl who broke a nail, that's when I gave up.
Anger in the way it was ruined, I have read the book and enjoyed it. The terrible narration may have ruined it for me forever. When I went to my bookshelves and got it out to read I found I could because I kept hearing that whinny voice in my head.
I am returning this one ASAP. I try not to do return many but I want my credit back!
Everything Lila did was memorable. A true free spirit who was so clever, she and Ash are such an unlikely pair but the way Nora Roberts wrote it made it work.
I was almost a "one sit listen" but it did have a few boring parts which could have been omitted.
The plot was predictable. The good character development made it worth the credit. However, the story should have had some sort of twist to it and it would have had a 5 star.
Not likely to do either one. The narration was alright, if the story hadn't bored me so much it may have rated more stars.
This was a "I'll give it a chance" book. I should have given another one a try.
The story and characters were poorly written...actually what story there was could have been told in 30 minutes. It was 8 hours of sex, badly written sex.
I'm not sure this one was even written by her. The whole thing was a disappointment.
She did an ok job of narrating but John voice was somehow off. Of course there wasn't even a character developed even to have a personality.
The only redeeming quality was when it finally ended.
This is my favorite historical romance book, everything was good about it.
Narration did not do justice.
Voices got on my nerves to much to do a one sitting.
It was a forgettable story, characters were under developed.
The ending was blah just like the rest of the book, again not good but not bad.
Anybody else, no range of voices, well not a good range, they all sounded to old.
