I learned so much and was deeply inspired by the story
That doing good can still be a good business model
David Pittu is brilliant in evoking all the different characters, and just like the painting the book has been named after, this book will remain a masterpiece to be savoured into the future.
It took me a while to get into this book as I was distracted by the authors accent and the subject matter was a bit touchy feelly in the beginning, but once I got over my prejudices and just listened to the content I was rewarded with many "aha" moments. It helped to understand not only my interactions with my husband but everyone around me - giving me access to explaining other people's behaviours so I can be more compassionate and patient around them! Once you know about the 5 love languages it seems so obvious...
Although a bit long towards the end I really enjoyed listening to this book. It's written in an engaging and entertaining style yet packed full of well researched content. The author has tried to answer all the questions of the ages referencing all the great sages from history, religious teachings and modern day scientific findings while importantly linking these with psychology and anthropology. Such a rich tapestry of information I thoroughly enjoyed listening and learning from this book and daresay will be returning again for another listen.
This book gives an insight into Jobs which is credible and 3 dimensional - something I found lacking from the biography. The author's admiration for Jobs is apparent throughout and the book demonstrates just how Jobs earned it. This book was a good listen.
I'm not a great consumer of trashy mags but sometimes it answers some primal needs, just like this trilogy. It has all the ingredients - the dark brooding male who needs some saving, the innocent heroine...throw in some sex and you have the makings of a best selling trilogy
I found this book to help explain much of why modern society is so highly strung. Knowing the psychology around it has helped me relax a little around "status anxiety". It was an enjoyable read
I really enjoyed the pace of this book. It was to the point, entertaining and full of good tips. Highly recommended
