Since the introduction of dietary guidelines calling for reduced fat intake in the 1970s, a strange phenomenon has occurred: Americans have steadily, inexorably become heavier, less healthy, and more prone to diabetes than ever before. After putting more than two thousand of his at-risk patients on a wheat-free regimen and seeing extraordinary results, cardiologist William Davis has come to the disturbing conclusion that it is not fat, not sugar, not our sedentary lifestyle that is causing America’s obesity epidemic—it is wheat.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    Yes.

What did you like best about this story?

The important and new information I didn't know about wheat.

What aspect of Tom Weiner’s performance would you have changed?

I would stop having the Author's read the books. He has a horrible voice and is very hard to follow. It was irritating. You need to stop having the author's just because they authored the book they shouldn't necessarily use their voice to read it to listener's because if they have a horrible voice it is distracting and people may not want to listen further.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not possible, too long and voice was distracting.

Chicago, 1920: Hadley Richardson is a quiet 28eight-year-old who has all but given up on love and happiness—until she meets Ernest Hemingway and her life changes forever. Following a whirlwind courtship and wedding, the pair set sail for Paris, where they become the golden couple in a lively and volatile group—the fabled “Lost Generation”—that includes Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound, and F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald.

What made the experience of listening to The Paris Wife the most enjoyable?

I initially did not like Carrington MacDuffie's voice and I was almost turned off to continue to listen I thought Carrington MacDuffie's voice was distracting and too eccentric but as I continued to listen her voice didn't bother me and I was very happy I read the book. It was excellent.

What did you like best about this story?

That it was based on Ernest Hemmingway's first wife and it takes you back in time and gives you such a great understanding of him and what it was like for her.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Carrington MacDuffie?

    I am not sure.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No.
