I like the series of unfortunate event books, so it was nice to get this extra bonus.

I was laughing very hard. It's free, so it's rather short, but I enjoyed this.

I downloaded it because it had Grover Gardener as the narrator & it was a WWII history book – two of my favorite things! Turns out it was so engrossing, it was very hard to put down and hit the pause button. It gave some great new insight into the period from Pearl Harbor to Midway, and I was pretty bummed out when it ended.

The background given to each of the Admirals (King, Nimitz, and the others) really brings them to life. In addition, I found the narrative he weaves of the events leading up the Midway and the days of the battle very well done. As usual, Gardener does an extraordinary job of making you feel like he is sitting right there, bringing a story to life and illuminating the text for you. It's very hard to listen to an audiobook by any other narrator once you've just finished a Gardener book.

WWII histories are among my favorites, but this one really brought everything to life in a way that not many actually do.

It fits in great with the other books in this series. LOVE the characters, Westerfield brings wonderful characters to life.

The accent he affected for the Clankers was a bit distracting but grew on me.

Oh yes, I would happily listen again. This is a great sequel to Leviathon, which ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Here we get introduced to Instanbul & Deryn and Alek's adventures in formenting revolution in the city and how they help the British Darwinists.

I've enjoyed most of Neal Stephenson's books, but this one was my favorite of his recent ones. Anathem was good but dragged quite a bit and I never really got drawn into the characters. Crytonomicon was the last book of his that I really, really enjoyed, so I am happy to see a return to form here.

The story is sprawling and relentless and deeply enjoyable! I ended up staying up all night to finish it once I was nearing the last fourth. The characters pull you in and you can't help but grow to love them as they take off on their crazy adventure. Super enjoyable crazy adventure that seems just like the last half of Snow Crash but even more over the top.

One of my favorite scenes is when a few of the characters hit up a Cabelas to stock up on gear- their take on the store, and what they purchased and why is really funny.

A criticism you could easily make here is that coincidences pile on coincidences. Yes - this happens. Go with it. Stephenson ties it all up at the end, and it does work out.

Unlike many of his books, this is not a deep meditation on LIFE or CODE or LANGUAGE -at the same time, this book is not really shallow. He's moved from deep themes explorartion to character driven stories & this one is a fine novel that you will really enjoy.

This is a very cute little story. Good for car rides with kids - et them up with an ipod with a few stories on it and they can entertain themselves on the ride.

It was sweet & funny & very well narrated!

This is not a space opera like many of Asher's works, instead it's largely confined to one planet. And there is no Cormac, although it takes place in the same universe. If you're a fan of his other Cormac works, why listen to this one? Well, for one, the droids are among the best ones he's written in any of his stories.

And despite being largely planet bound there is tons of action & great characters. Good listen & a great intro to the rest of the spatterjay trilogy!

I would definitely listen to this again. It's a great story and I did enjoy it. A lot of Steve Berry books are great mysteries and fun to follow along with.

Steve Berry books always keep me on the edge of my seat - I find that his stories are very gripping!

A film would be awesome! Definitely.
