At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ready Player One to be better than the print version?

    I'm not sure.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Artemis. She is one seriously cool chick! I should note that I adore most of the other characters too.

Have you listened to any of Wil Wheaton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to other books performed by him before this one. I thought he was a great choice for this book specifically.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

There were points when I had a hard time turning it off.

    Any additional comments?

I thought this story just got better and better as it progressed. This story produced a lot more nostalgia than I was expecting, but I loved it all!

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I've already given this book as a gift to several people and have recommended it to everyone I know. And possibly some strangers as well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Fault in Our Stars?

I found nearly every moment in this book memorable. It has such a profound effect on me that I remember much of it with clarity. I've since listened to it more than once, and sometimes I quote it in my daily life.

Have you listened to any of Kate Rudd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to anything else that she has narrated, but I would listen to more of her in the future. I feel that her performance really added a lot to this book and definitely enhanced a great read.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I found it hard to stop listening nearly every time I had to get out of my car.

    Any additional comments?

I haven't been touched by a book this much in a long time, if ever. Due to some personal experiences, this story brought up a lot of memories and feelings I haven't experienced in a while. I found it to be thoughtful, memorable, charming, devastating, and hilarious. Highly recommend!

Miles Halter is fascinated by famous last words - and tired of his safe life at home. He leaves for boarding school to seek what the dying poet Francois Rabelais called the "Great Perhaps." Much awaits Miles at Culver Creek, including Alaska Young. Clever, funny, screwed-up, and dead sexy, Alaska will pull Miles into her labyrinth and catapult him into the Great Perhaps.

Looking for Alaska brilliantly chronicles the indelible impact one life can have on another.

Would you listen to Looking for Alaska again? Why?

I might. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

What other book might you compare Looking for Alaska to and why?

I would compare it to Paper Towns by the same author. I liked this one better, but love everything John Green writes.

What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?

I thought his voice suited the story and characters. His voice and performance never took me out of the story, and that is one of my criteria of a good narrator.

    Any additional comments?

John Green always writes characters that I would want to be friends with. That definitely applies to this book. I loved pending time with them and was sad when the story ended.

Would you listen to The Night Circus again? Why?

Yes. I found the narration perfect and the story enchanting.

What other book might you compare The Night Circus to and why?

Possibly The Scorpio Races, by Maggie Stiefvater. Both had an element of the mystical while simultaneously feeling real.

Have you listened to any of Jim Dale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I would definitely listen to other performances of his. I found his voice perfect for this story, but I'm pretty sure I would enjoy him performing anything.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I found myself sitting in the car longer just so I wouldn't have to turn it off.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! It is an engaging story and wonderfully narrated.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the "flowery" language. It completely set the mood and tone of the book in an effective way. It made the funny bits funnier and really helped me stay immersed in the story.

If you could take any character from The Sisters Brothers out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Eli. The duality of him was completely fascinating. He was loyal, and funny, and and thoughtful, and a killer.

    Any additional comments?

I'd recommend this to anyone. Regardless of your genre preference, I think this is a story most people would enjoy.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

What did you love best about Divergent?

It is completely absorbing right from the start.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tris is a fantastic protagonist. She is vulnerable, and strong, and real. Four is pretty swell too.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There are so many poignant scenes, I can't choose a favorite.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt a lot of strong emotions while listening to this book because the writing is descriptive, and very engaging.

    Any additional comments?

The narration is perfect. Emma Galvin is Tris, and I can hardly wait until the next book in the series is released.

Would you listen to The Scorpio Races again? Why?

I'm sure I'll listen to The Scorpio Races again. I loved it when I read it, and I loved it again when I heard it told to me via audiobook.

What did you like best about this story?

I love all the relationships and characters in this story. The island of Thisby is a character all its own and has very different relationships with all who live on it. Sean Kendrick and Puck Connolly are wonderful protagonists who I came to care deeply about along with the other Connolly children, George Holley, and of course, Dove and Corr.

What about Steve West and Fiona Hardingham ???s performance did you like?

I thought both narrators were perfectly cast. Since I read the book before I listened to it, I already had an idea of what the characters sounded like. I felt that the voices in my head were just more realistically expressed when I listed to the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were several lines in this story that made me tear up as I read them and again as I listened to them. Some just because they were beautiful expressions of a concept. Stiefvater's exquisite use of language expresses the character's emotions so well, that I would find it impossible not to feel along with them.
