"must read"
if you have already read this book, read it again. If you have'nt, read it twice. This is one of the most captivating books I have ever listened to.The strugles of all the characters this book have touched me deeply.
"My review"
This book was fun to listen to. The author figured out a way to give us a look at the lives of a boy with Autism and his family, all struggling to cope, and throw a mystery in there for good measure. This book would made a good listen for teens to young adults.
"good fun"
this story is fun. The author has done a fine job of making a story centuries old seem very modern and fast paced. It has a 50's detective novel feeling to it,and the characters are very likeable.
"spellbinding"
I plan on reading everything I can by this author. American Pastoral has a very intersting story line, but what really struck me about this book is Roth's fantastic ability to "turn a phrase". I found myself rewinding and relistining not because I was confused by his writting but because I was entrawled by it.
"heartwood"
A standard Burke novel.Enjoyable, and fast paced. Great dialog and dynamic villans.Hardnosed heros and venomous vixons. Burkes books always hit close to home with anyone from the Big Sky state or The South, especially Texas or Louisiana and this is no exception. If you are a long time Burke reader than of corse you must read this one. If not I would suggest starting off with one of the Robicheux books. Its not that this book is bad but Burke has done much better.Audible should also think about offering Burke's award winning novel, Black Cherry Blues.I would recomend Burke to anyone who is a fan crime stories in fact I would shove them in his direction. He may be the best in the business.
