John is a killer, but that wasn't his day job before the Apocalypse. In a harrowing 900-mile race against time to get to his wife just as the dead begin to rise, John, a businessman trapped in New York, soon learns that the zombies are the least of his worries, as he sees firsthand the horror of what man is capable of with no rules, no consequences, and death at every turn. Teaming up with an ex-army pilot named Kyle, they escape New York only to stumble across a man who says that he has the key to a rumored underground stronghold called Avalon....

Kept waiting for a conversation not a narration. Pretty good story once it gets started but I like more conversations. Took an unexpected twist in the middle in the arena which was very welcome - haven't read that in other stories. Toward the end I care about what happens to the characters and will get the next book

Master Sergeant Reed Beckham has led his Delta Force Team, codenamed Ghost, through every kind of hell imaginable and never lost a man. When a top-secret Medical Corps research facility goes dark, Team Ghost is called in to face their deadliest enemy yet - a variant strain of Ebola that turns men into monsters.

Characters are believable with human emotions - not just the brave "hero." Storyline is captivating with just enough science mixed in. Different take on the normal zombie using bio weapons as we all really think they are being used now. Story moves very fast but author knows how to make you connect with each one.
I want to see what happens next.

The day the world ended, Erik Tragger escaped to the mountains. Cut off from civilization for five months, he returned to find a ruined city now ruled by the living dead. Tragger joins a group of survivors with a plan: make it to Portland where humanity is carving out a stronghold. But along the way they face opposition at every turn - the dead, rogue military forces, looters - and a new enemy more dangerous than any they have yet encountered. Among the stumbling, mindless zombies are... ghouls.

Jut enough of everything - the zombies we have come to love, the ghouls that are evolving and controlling the zombies, and then there's the bully. Action with fighting, realistic strategic warfare, survival and emotions all wrapped up in one,
    Definetely left me wanting more

The world is infected. The dead are reanimating and attacking the living. In a city being overrun with ravenous corpses people find safety where they can. A disparate group of strangers drawn together by chance seek sanctuary from the carnage outside in an empty office block.

    Story

Storyline is slow at first. You don't really get to know the characters so it's hard to tell what the motives are. People trapped in an office building because of flesh eating zombies and they don't seem too bothered about the why and how. They can make a daring trip to the school cafeteria but don't consider any other options or escape routes.
Surprise ending which was refreshing - too bad the rest of the story wasn't.

Sometimes the worst storms aren't from Mother Nature, and sometimes the worst nightmares aren't the ones in our heads. Mike Mitchell, an average New Yorker already struggling to keep his family together, suddenly finds himself fighting just to keep them alive when an increasingly bizarre string of disasters starts appearing on the world's news networks. As both the real world and the cyber world come crashing down, bending perception and reality, a monster snowstorm cuts New York off from the world, turning it into a wintry tomb where nothing is what it seems.

Reinforces just how egotistical humans are. We think we're smarter than everyone else and have all the answers even before we know the answers. The ending was great.
I would have liked a faster beginning - I grew tired of nothing happening other than the dull day to day trials of surviving. I could have done without the long walks to the center of the town to see what was happening. But once they left town - that's when things get interesting.

The List is a technothriller about a group of people who each have tattoos of numbers on the bottoms their feet, and don't know why. One of them, a Chicago Homicide cop named Tom Mankowski, has had one of these strange tattoos since birth. When he investigates a violent murder and discovers the victim also has a tattooed number, it sets the ball rolling for an adventure of historic proportions. To say more would give away too much.

Good mystery! It kept my interest because I wanted to know and was determined to find out what the lists had in common. Tempo was good although sometimes sketchy.- he went into detail on some things (clothes etc) that I didn't feel added to the story but it wasn't boring. Characters were cloned from great men (and women) from history but don't really seem amazed at that. You mean no one has ever told you you look just exactly like Jack the Ripper or Joan of Arc before? This realization doesn't seem to shock any of them. Action is good and dialog is good and believable . Narator is vey engaging keeping charaters true througout the book.
This is a good read. I would definetely recommend.

Jeremy Bishop's first pulse-pounding novel is a horrific tale of post-apocalyptic terror that is one part zombie story and one part Dante's Inferno. The story asks hard questions and generates strong emotions in everyone who reads it--anger, excitement, and most of all: FEAR. This book asks the question that everyone is afraid to answer: Are you ready? Enter the mind of Jeremy Bishop if you dare. Share his nightmares. Experience the fear that shaped his life. You may never be the same.
