This book is an unconventional, thoughtful memoir. Reverend Bolz-Weber shares a life and faith journey that are hers alone, but offer lessons and insights for many of us. Christians who are comfortable with a simple, well-packaged and judgmental faith will not like this book. For those, both believers and non-believers, who struggle with the contradictions of life and belief, this is a fascinating book and well worth reading.
This is an intriguing concept, the characters are well developed and the narrative winds in and out, ultimately coming to a satisfactory conclusion. The narration just about drove me crazy. The female narrator mispronounced both English and Japanese words and had a very stilted delivery.
The Time Traveler's Wife and To Say Nothing of The Dog. Alternate reality with real characters.
