History professor Ned Brummel is living happily with his partner of 12 years in small-town Maine when he receives a phone call from his estranged friend - Jack - telling him that another friend - Andy - is very ill and possibly near death. As Ned boards a plane to Chicago on his way to his friend's bedside, he embarks on another journey into memory, examining the major events and small moments that have shaped his world and his relationships with these two very different, very important men.

I loved this story!! I can so relate to the struggles, hardships, and joy described in the pages of Michael Thomas Ford's 'Full Story'. Though I am not as old as the characters of our protagonists, Ned & Jack, many of the paths described within the pages resonate within and brought forth a plethora of memories of my own forgotten past. Initially, I thought I would resent that remembrance, but I must admit that I am thankful. This is the second book written by Ford that I have read and I can assuredly admit that I am now a huge fan. The narration of Blake Somerset, brought the characters to life and I am glad that I was able to share in the telling of such a reminiscent tale! Highly recommend!!!

Includes all three installments of the Refuge Inc. series. Before the Darkness (Book 1): After an asteroid strikes Earth, a series of violent earthquakes destroy secluded Phoenix and leave survivor Elliot struggling to stay focused in the bleak aftermath. He meets fellow survivor Adam and together they search for reliable shelter and other survivors while distant, murky clouds fast approach.

Listening to the complete Darkness Collection was both interesting and entertaining. The story of Elliot, Adam, and Triton encompasses the gambit of emotional twists and turns and is somewhat exhausting...which is what would occur at the time of the apocalypse (I would assume). This is a tale with coming to terms, mystery, intrigue, lunacy, and things that make you go hmm. Enjoyed the story, the narrator took a bit getting use to but once that happened, the story flowed nicely. Certainly recommend for anyone who wants a taste of what might be...

A specter from the past haunts the halls of Blackford High School, terrorizing anyone who preys on the weak. Rumors say that a Goth/skater boy controls the ghost, but can the rumor be true? A mysterious new boy catches the eye of Toby and his new friend, Daniel Peralta as well. The new boy seems too perfect to be true. Is he or will be become the boy of Toby's or Daniel's dreams? Cedi is living his fantasy-touring with Phantom, the most popular band in the world.

    Story

A story about a bunch of young boys who are seeking love, happiness, and a boyfriend. The principle characters, Cedi, Toby, and Daniel begin a journey that involves lost love, new love, bullies, and of course a anti-bully ghost. I enjoyed getting to know all the characters involved in this story, those with major stories and those who supported them...one of my favs was Chase. According to some of the reviews I have read, I must be a 17-year-old girl, if I enjoyed this story. Does an almost 50-year-old man come close? I like the story and would recommend. Plus, loved the narration of Bryant Sullivan...he added such character to the characters...

Guardsmen are always matched in a bonded pair. The Protector can shift into a weredog, and the human partner is his Handler. They are incredibly rare and highly valued, but people also fear them for their mystical abilities. No Protector in living memory has outlived his Handler - until Alex Taylor. Now a widower, Alex lives a lonely half-life and faces day after day of grief with no hope for happiness in the future.

First read this on my Kindle and then it came to audiobook and for the price, couldn't resist. Paul Morey is an exceptional narrator and did a fantastic job...

Javier Torres was a sweet, plump, and very unpopular child. But over the years, he turned himself into a gorgeous gym god. The problem is he's also become an egotistical snob. But one day his arrogance pisses off the wrong little old lady, and he wakes up to find that, like the Prince in Beauty and the Beast, he's been transformed into something from his personal nightmares.

A story about never forgetting where you come from or else a mysterious gray-haired older lady will make you remember. A play on a Christmas Carol, Javier must realize what he has become and remember who and what he use to be. During this journey, Javier learns that those whom he thought were important were not and those forgotten were indeed important parts of who he was. An enjoyable tale that I recommend...

This is a sweet story about a boy tossed out and down on his luck and his journey to self-discovery and his determination to change the course he is on. Zach meets Ben, Ben begins to feel that tingle within but withholds until Zach is ready for unconditional love. This is their journey to happiness and it is a sweet, horrific, loving, detestable, accepting story that everyone can gain something from. RJ Scott's style and Sean Crisden's narration was a delight...a must read/listen

There are two sides to every story. When you're Tim Wyman, sometimes there are three. Tim hoped moving to Texas would mean a new beginning, but he soon finds himself falling into the same tired patterns. Until he meets recklessly brave Benjamin Bentley, who introduces Tim to a world of love, sex, and warmth. Certain that society won't understand what he and Ben have together, Tim struggles to protect their relationship, even if it means twisting the truth. Buried beneath his own deceptions, Tim must claw his way to the surface in the hopes of learning to fly.

    Story

First, let me start off by stating that I was very apprehensive about reading/listening to this second installment offered by Jay Bell. I absolutely adored and cherished Something Like Summer and I was so afraid that the next book might tarnish my mental images of Ben, Tim, and Jace...it took me over six months before I began the second part of this journey...but I was so wrong!!

So I began listening to the book on the treadmill at the gym, filled with anxiety and let me just say this...Jay Bell is an evil, evil person. Deliciously evil, that is!! Not to spoil anything, but I literally stumbled and fell off the treadmill as I listened to the first part of the story...evil I tell you (saying with a smile). Suffice it to say, I loved listening to Tim's perspective of the story and it only added pleasurable images to what was already in my head. Many of the holes (that I didn't even realize existed) from the first book were filled in and then to continue the story to a fantastic conclusion was exceptional. A great story and great continuation. I will state again, that Jay Bell's writing is exceptional and the narration by Kevin R. Free was spot on. I am looking forward to the next installment, Something Like Autumn.

    I seriously recommend this book!!!

After breaking up with his cheating boyfriend, Mark Smith keeps life simple: His nursing career and a place of his own, but no dating. He's steering clear of romance and the heartbreak that goes with it. After losing both parents and having all his relationships fail, he figures happily ever after is a myth. When Dr. Trevor Hayes crosses Mark's path at the hospital, he falls hard for Mark. The attraction is clearly mutual, and Trevor is determined to parlay that attraction into a relationship. Mark is just as determined to avoid exactly that.

Dan thinks about just driving, leaving the whole mess behind. He's got enough money. He could just arrange to get his stuff and his horse shipped to wherever he's going. Taking off is what he used to do when things got to be too much, and it worked pretty well, really.

Though I am a gay boy, I am pretty much a prude. At the time of this purchase, I was unaware of a M/M/M story/romance, thus when I began to realize where this book was heading...I almost stopped reading. So glad I didn't. Oh goodness, I loved this story. Dan is the best centralized character and how Evan and Jeff interact within the story is fantastic. I enjoyed Peter B. Brooke's narration and how he brought the characters to life and I instantly became a fan of Kate Sherwood's writing. I loved this story so much, I had to see what happens next. Went to Amazon and purchased the rest of this series on my Kindle and ate it up until I was bursting with these fantastic characters. One of the greatest compliments I can give to Sherwood's story telling is that by the end of this book, I began to wonder about the possibilities...Excellent book and I recommend the entire series!!!

Doug Heavy Runner left the life of an openly gay Miami police officer and returned to his home on the Salish-Kootenai Indian Reservation when his mother got sick. In the two years since she passed, he's carved out an empty life as a small-town deputy, relying on out-of-town one-night stands to keep him sane. Then he meets Detective Christopher Hayes, and they share a wild night so incredible Doug breaks his own rule and allows a one-night stand to grow into a weekend of amazing sex.

I believe I have found another "must" read author!! A.J. Thomas delivered an exceptional story filled with humor, lust, intrigue, and possibility. Thomas's writing technique draws the reader in and makes you hunger for more. The meeting of Christopher and Doug is one that is very realistic and relatable and their journey to discovery was awesome. The narration by Andy Babinski was exceptional and added to the story. Though I would have loved to have had closure in the story that was Christopher and Doug...the author allowed the reader to imagine the possibilities and being the sap that I am, of course they live happily ever after!!! Excellent book and I definitely recommend. Looking forward to reading more from this author...

Do you believe in love at first sight? Paul Auster doesn't. Paul doesn't believe in much at all. He's thirty, slightly overweight, and his best features are his acerbic wit and the color commentary he provides as life passes him by. His closest friends are a two-legged dog named Wheels and a quasibipolar drag queen named Helena Handbasket. He works a dead-end job in a soul-sucking cubicle, and if his grandmother's homophobic parrot insults him one more time, Paul is going to wring its stupid neck.

I am a huge fan on TJ Klune, basically because he knows how to tell a story in such a way that every emotion is reached and the narration by Michael Lesley was beyond reproach. The vocal inflections were phenomenal and his voice brought each character to life in my mind. Initially, I was afraid that the protagonist was going to annoy me...but I laughed so hard, so many times...OUT LOUD...that people thought I was weird (which I am, but that's alright). Began the book on the treadmill and I seriously fell off the daw-gone thing from laughing so hard...a few of my favorites...the entire book...although a special tribute to the menstruating ghost and Johnny Depp...a definite must read!!!
