Carrick Francis has spent most of his life jumping into trouble with both feet. The only thing saving him from prison or worse is his absolute devotion to Deacon Winters. Deacon was Crick's sanity and salvation during a miserable, abusive childhood, and Crick would do anything to stay with him forever.

The tale of Crick and Deacon is filled with a plethora of emotions ranging from elation to despair. The writing style of Amy Lane is fantastic and Sean Crisden's narration added to the story. I have listened to this book several times and I still find myself laughing out loud and shedding a tear. A great story! One I highly recommend.

Though this was a requirement for a class, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Kottler's straightforwardness provided a clearer vision into the world of counseling and what was to be expected. Never have I ever read a textbook that made me think as hard and at times, laugh out loud as this book. The insight that Kottler provides is immeasurable. Reading this book was like talking with the author himself. Whether in school or a professional in the field, this is a definite must read. I look forward to reading more from this professional. The narration, provided by Rob Shapiro, added so much humanism to the text. I both read and listened to this book and both versions provided a plethora of information and insight...

With panic and intolerance spreading and streets becoming littered with the Order's propaganda, hostility between Humans and Therians grows daily. Dex and Sloane, along with the rest of the team, are determined to take down the Order and restore peace, not to mention settle a personal score. But the deeper the team investigates the bombings, the more they believe there's a more sinister motive than a desire to shed blood and spread chaos.

I loved the first book in this series, Hell & High Water, and if it is even possible, I loved this one more. Dex and Sloane are just the perfect couple, minus the baggage, secretiveness, and emotional distance. But through the course of working together and recognizing the bond that they share, the cast of characters and the thrill and mystery of journey kept this story moving faster than I would have liked. Mark Westfield's narration was again, fantastic and added so much to Charlie Cochet's words. I cannot say to much with out spoiling, but if you read the first one...the second one is a definite must read. On to the next one in the series...

When homicide detective Dexter J. Daley’s testimony helps send his partner away for murder, the consequences - and the media frenzy - aren’t far behind. He soon finds himself sans boyfriend, sans friends, and, after an unpleasant encounter in a parking garage after the trial, he’s lucky he doesn’t find himself sans teeth. Dex fears he’ll get transferred from the Human Police Force’s Sixth Precinct, or worse, get dismissed.

    Story

New to the shifter genre, I was a bit reluctant to delve into this newly created world by Charlie Cochet. The first five minutes left me wondering if I had made a mistake but then the rest of the story and I could not wait to see where our protagonists, Dex and Sloane were going to next. Cochet's writing style kept you guessing and traveling fast in this interesting twist to the shifter genre. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and when it ended, I immediately went searching for the next part of the story...a good indicator that it's a good story. Mark Westfield did an exceptional job bringing the characters to life with his unique approach to the voices with his narration. I loved the dynamic between Dex and the cast of characters involved with this story. As I listened to the story, I pictured Dex as a subtle representation of Steve Martin's wild and crazy guy, with a serious side when it was called for. I laughed, cried, and became lost into this wonderful story offered by Cochet. I look forward to reading the next part of the series and I certainly would recommend this story!!!

This is a book of short stories by the fantastic writer, Josh Lanyon, and he continues to entertain and enthrall me with his story telling. I'm hoping to meet up with Chance someday and try some of his chocolate's. Almost 14 hours of storytelling and the narrators did a fantastic job. They credit four narrators but with the mix and mingle of the characters in the various stories, I would have suspected even more. A definite must read/listen. Lanyon is an excellent writer and he does it again with this culmination of intriguing stories...

As a fan of Andrew Grey's writing, I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I've not heard one like it before and as with most of Grey's stories there is a happily ever after. But the journey to getting there is always a lesson to learn. Truth is a wondrous thing and can things into motion that brings forth growth and learning! Luca and Peter's come together with a past, each learning the truth and dealing with it and in that course find love with one another. A sweet story that causes the pitter patter of this hopeless romantic's heart to swoon with glee...a definite recommendation...As far as the narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo, I am not sure if I have heard him before, but he was excellent and brought life to the characters within the story. I'm looking forward to hearing more from him...

Henry Clueley doesn't want to be in Glamour, not after moving far away to overcome a difficult, if privileged, childhood. He's no longer that pudgy kid desperate to escape his hometown, but it still holds painful memories. When his recently widowed mother needs him, however, "dependable Henry" does the right thing - even if it means leaving the IRS to take a boring corporate position. Things don't stay boring for long. Soon Henry helps the local sheriff's department unravel a crime.

What a wonderfully, fantastic story. Though I have not read any of the others in this series, I adore Henry and Locke. The build-up to their relationship was tantalizing, taunting, and titillating...the basic three "t's". For me, Skylar M. Cates, presented the two characters in such a way that I could relate to both of them and I felt for both of them. I remember being Henry, so sure that my body image was the reason I couldn't find love; as well as understanding Locke's sense of not being good enough. I am a good guy, that like's to be a bit bad! The two are perfect together and I think that Cates did an outstanding job telling their story. I also enjoyed the mix of intrigue and mystery...it added to the story. The secondary characters also added to the mix and I found myself drawn toward James and Ron...feeling for them. Which is a good sign of a wonderful author. Now for the narration by Matt Baca...LOVE HIM!! His vocal inflections provided a visionary connection between the characters and the reader. I will look forward to listening to him in the future! Which is going to be soon because I am going to start listening to the rest of this series...Definitely would recommend...excellent author and fantastic narrator!

When I walked out of his office after the hottest sex of my life, I thought I'd left Max Douglas behind me forever - along with my favorite argyle socks and my self-respect. The last thing I need is the too-serious, too-sexy former Marine living across the hall from me while he acts as a bodyguard for one of my students. Especially since he fired me from my job tutoring his brother...after we hooked up. I shouldn't want him. I should despise him after the way he treated me. But he's exactly my type: older, experienced, in control...and it's obvious the lust is still mutual.

I realized that I had this book since 2013 and that I had not listened to it. I have now completed all of the Men of Smithfield stories and let me just say that this one, Max and Finn, is my all time favorite. The story was smooth and flowed, with little not no hiccups. The connection between Finn and Max was intense and it remained throughout the book. The subplot was equally intriguing and left me guessing until the end...I realized who it was just as soon as Finn did. As usual, Shannon Gunn was fantastic and brought so much to the story. An excellent romance/mystery/day-to-day story and I certainly would and do recommend.

Private investigator Mackenzie Williams' newest client is everything he's looking for in a guy--charming, beautiful, intelligent, and successful. There's only one itty bitty problem: the guy's not exactly gay. In fact Jordan Channing is looking for a PI to follow his fiance. The smart thing would be to thank Jordan for his time, turn Mr. Perfect away (don't let the door hit you on the rump, thank you very much), and forget he exists.

I love sarcasm and the principle character, private investigator, Mackenzie Williams is one smarta** who could be my friend. There is a lot going on in this story and you have to pay attention to the narrative of the past to understand Mac in the present time. I found Mac's love interest, Jordan, to be very interesting if not a bit unrealistic...but it works for this story. Harmon did a great job telling this story with humor, wit, and the fear of love. The narrator, Michael Stellman, did a good job with the vocal inflictions for the most part. The only reason for a four rating is during the telling of this story, it dragged a bit--particularly in the middle and I am not sure if it was the story or the narrator. Either way, it is a good story that I would recommend...

Holden Worthington's globetrotting days are over. Once the host of a popular adventure show, he hasn't ventured past his own front door in more than a year. Then the arrival of a sexy new gardener sparks something Holden hasn't felt in a very long time - an interest in the world outside his window. Holden tries to resist the attraction. But painfully shy yet definitely interested Adam Morgan has Holden longing to conquer his debilitating anxiety and live again. After a grisly discovery on the grounds of the estate, the town of Smithfield turns a suspicious eye on the reclusive Holden - and the two men must trust in each other to bring the truth out in the open.

    Story

I really enjoyed this book, particularly in audio format. I have actually enjoyed all of the Men of Smithfield stories. L. B Gregg provides a little mystery and a love conquers all mojo that appeals to my extremely unrealistic romantic side. With this story the two principle characters are Holden--a 40-year-old former adventurer, now agoraphobic and Adam--a 24-year-old young man who has to endure and overcome some earlier trauma. Within the midst of the romance is a mystery that left me guessing towards the end of the story. All in all, a good journey. Now as far as the narrator, Shannon Gunn has done all four books and I admire his vocal ability for differentiating our protagonists, but the voice for Holden really just tickled me to the point of no return. I am sure that some will not get my reference, but as I listened to Holden's story I kept envisioning Paul Lynn. Some of the inflictions provided by Gunn were spot on to the late and great Lynn. Then of course, when Holden spouted off on several occasions of being 'the man', my mental image and the vocal inflictions had me rolling. I am not sure if that was the intent of Gregg, but it certainly added so much more to the character of Holden and actually served as a measure that endeared me to Holden. I actually had to have my bff listen to the book to see if I was crazy and she came up with the same conclusion that I did regarding the character of Holden. But I digress, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend and if you want to determine my Lynn reference, just remember Uncle Author from Bewitched or from reruns of Hollywood Squares and the center square.

As always, I enjoyed this latest offering by Cardeno C but it was entirely too short. I see that it is Book 1, so there is hope for the future. There was just so much more that could have been covered in my opinion. This is the first book of CC's in which I feel incomplete. Not the author's problem, just my feelings. This is a quaint little story about Jarod and Lucas, finding love in Hope. Though too short, certainly a must read/listen. Additionally, as usual, Paul Morey did an excellent job of bringing these characters to life.
