Carrick Francis has spent most of his life jumping into trouble with both feet. The only thing saving him from prison or worse is his absolute devotion to Deacon Winters. Deacon was Crick's sanity and salvation during a miserable, abusive childhood, and Crick would do anything to stay with him forever.

The tale of Crick and Deacon is filled with a plethora of emotions ranging from elation to despair. The writing style of Amy Lane is fantastic and Sean Crisden's narration added to the story. I have listened to this book several times and I still find myself laughing out loud and shedding a tear. A great story! One I highly recommend.

There was just something about this series that I just did not like and I could not put my finger on it. I read and reviewed Volume 1 (Books #1-2) giving it a three rating for the story. I just completed Volume 2 (Books #3-4) and somewhere towards the end of book 3 I figured out what it was that I was having a problem with...I do not identify with the dominate/submissive relationship between Sam and Jory. Attempting to identify with the characters allows the reader to fully enjoy the tale that is being told and I just could not. I kept saying, if I was Jory...geez the expletives that spewed forth from my mouth! Now I will say that I did enjoy book four the most. Jory's escapades and his attempt at mystery solving was rather enjoyable (if not a bit far fetched) and the conversations between Dane and Jory were rather comical. I was a bit confused that Mary Calmes did not expound on Jory and Sam's union but rather chose to end the tale with anothers wedding and petty jealousy. I have book 5 left, but I will wait a while before I read it. I need a break from Jory and Sam. I would recommend, if for no other reason than I like Mary Calmes story telling.

Though initially saved by police Detective Sam Kage, Jory refuses protective custody - he has a life he loves that he won’t give up no matter who is after him. But Jory’s life is in real jeopardy, especially after he agrees to testify about what he saw. While dealing with attempts on his life, well-meaning friends who want to see him happy, an overly protective boss, and a slowly unfolding mystery that is much more sinister than he could ever imagine, the young gay man finds himself getting involved with Sam, the conflicted and closeted detective....

I enjoyed the story for the most part. The backstory was a bit confusing. I am not sure if it was because of the main character Jory's ADD or what but I found myself lost on a couple of occasions and I had to go back to pick up the story. Perhaps it's my own ADD kicking in. Additionally, I found it difficult to relate to Detective Kage or even like him for that matter. However, as the end of book 2 drew to a close, I finally began appreciating Sam Kage. The ending was exciting and engaging with a typical cliff hanger...now I have to get started on Volume two.

I am a fan of Andrew Grey's and have enjoyed everything that I have read thus far. I am a huge fan of happy endings and happily ever after and Mr. Grey's tales offer this scenario. That said, this book was missing something. Though the happy ending was there, something was missing. I actually had to read several sections over again to see what I had missed and did not figure it out. The characters just seemed to be lacking something or maybe the story was missing something. If I did not know better, I would say the story was rushed. Though I would still recommend the book...because I am all about happy endings...it is not one of Mr. Grey's best. Of course, this is just my opinion...

Someone's out to get Los Angeles bookseller Adrien English. His best friend has been viciously murdered, now he's getting weird phone calls and sinister gifts from a mysterious "admirer." The cops think he's trying to divert suspicion from himself - with the exception of sexy and homophobic homicide detective Jake Riordan. Is Riordan really such a great detective - or does he have a few secrets of his own? Is his offer to help Adrien on the level or is he out to nail his favorite suspect - to the wall?

Just finished this book and though I figured out who the culprit was half way through, I enjoyed the journey to revelation. The dialogue between Adrien (with an e) and Jake at the end, makes me want to get the next part of this series. The tale provided by Josh Lanyon was a good read and Chris Patton's narration added to the story. A great book...

Lieutenant Tom Donald envies everything about fellow officer Frank Foden - his confidence, his easy manner with the men in the trenches, the affectionate letters from his wife. Frank shares these letters happily, drawing Tom into a vicarious friendship with a woman he's never met. Although the bonds of friendship forged under fire are strong, Tom can't be so open with Frank - he's attracted to men and could never confess that to anyone.

Charlie Cochrane's tale may have been set in WWI but the experience can be applied even to today's lives...at least mine. I related so much with Tom Donald and his experiences of never telling the one that you love...Kevin Stillwell's narration was fantastic and made the characters come to life. A great story...

He's everything I've never wanted—too young, too weird, too wild. I wasn't impressed that I had to get my weekly massage from a guy with a toe ring. But when I discovered David Cooke's skills as a masseur were literally orgasmic, I couldn't stop thinking about him and his amazing hands, day and night. Especially at night. He's full of surprises. And despite my bad behavior, David's just as eager to explore this chemistry between us. Turns out, there's a lot more to him than hemp pants and tattoos.

Oil and water may not mesh, but David and Seth do. He's everything I never knew I wanted...what a catch phrase. A little mystery, a little romance, and a well placed ring all serve as perfect ingredients for a great story. Excellent narration. Entertaining and enjoyable!!!

LOVED, LOVED, this story. Have listened to it twice in three days. This is by far the best work offered through Audible by Cardeno C. The writing was fantastic and the narration is some of the best that I have heard. Paul Morey was phenominal. A gambit of emotions and the smile on my face actually hurt. A continuation--of sorts--from Home Again (another good book) in that the character of Ben Foreman continued on his path of growth, discovery, and acceptance. Wanted the story to continue on and on...especially with the great characters. As earlier stated, loved this story and I think I might recommend it...maybe :-)

Jake Owens, aggressive, physical, blunt and brave, is a football hero turned city cop. Nate Richardson, his best friend since before forever, is thoughtful, quiet, and kind, a brilliant doctor who has always known who he is and that Jake is the love of his life - and loyal, courageous, straight Jake has never had a clue. But Jake has been nursing his own case of the unrequiteds, and he’s never been as straight as Nate assumes. Nate may think their passionate explosion is a fluke, a result of too much closeness for too long, but Jake is bound and determined to prove to him otherwise.

An interesting tale of one's inability to see what is in front of you. Jake and Nate are virtually bonded together since birth, yet still fail to realize some truths about one another. I am a fan of Sean Crisden and I think he did a great job, as usual. The Cardeno's story was good but a bit predictable...long in some parts and shorter in others. I felt as if there was a larger story to tell, specifically involving Jake, Jake's parents, and Nate but what do you do. All in all, a good, sappy romance, which I love. Worth the listen.
