"I was distracted by the noises in the background"
Not too bad
I care about the characters in this series that's what compels me
No as far as I'm concerned he's Elvis Cole
"Really Really Good"
I was expecting something overly political, but I was desperate to read another Adrian McKinty book because I consider him a master story teller, and I'd listen to anything narrated by Gerard Doyle. The book wasn't focused on politics and turned out to be a really good solid story, with compelling characters. After Michael this one is my favourite.
"Oddly compelling"
This is the first Ken Bruen book I've listened to and I came straight off Adrian McKinty and Stuart Neville, looking for something similar. This is not. It has a kind of who cares attitude right down to the ending. It's full of excess and the results of it and makes no apologies.
I liked the characters they were interesting and you felt for them, but the story has a weird pace. It spent a lot of time up front and all of a sudden it ended. Still if you are in it for the journey as opposed to a succinct destination it's a colourful jaunt. I'm downloading two more right now, prepared to give Ken a couple more tries.
"I still can't figure out if he's for real"
Not really, these are a one shot deal for me, a bit like when someone tells you a joke, it's not as good the second time.
Yes and I do immediately after I listen
There are three of them, Ricky has a strange laugh, Karl is monotone ...I don't like Steve at all
THE KARL SHOW...with Ricky and steve
"This is a great story"
He's just so average, but not
Monster followed closely by his paper friend
Where the Demon Girlfriend finally gets it
Yes
Great story really well written and clever
"I love Charles Dickens"
I just think the illustration of the times is marvellous
I loved them all
All of Dickens books make me cry but they also make you hopeful. If you want a story with a happy ending Dickens is your man.
"I had high hopes"
No, I was a bit let down I thought it was going to be really something but it wasn't to my taste
Probably if they asked and liked science fiction
I didn't have one
No
"Characters developed in a strange way"
Maybe, but I wouldn't go looking
To people who read this kind of thing, and asked for a recommendation.
What every narrator brings the ability to do something else while you listen
No, if it was I wouldn't watch it
"Not my favourite"
It's hard to say, I love the Elvis Cole Joe Pike series but this one was a bit flat
William Roberts is just the best voice for this, I listened to Free Fall, I can only get the abridged version and it was narrated by someone else, it was just not right.
I will buy what ever he writes follow up or not, let's have more Joe next time.
"I really liked this"
I think the narration was well done and believable.
There were many, it's an interesting journey that goes from moment that you have waited for to moment that you are waiting for.

"Joe Pike is a legend"
The premise
I compare them all to each other (Robert Crais books)
It's always Joe Pike
Yes
