Dev is a football player at Forester University, a small liberal arts college where he and his teammates get to strut around and have their pick of the girls on Friday nights. That's as good as it gets - until he meets Lee, a fox with a quick wit and an attractive body. Problem is, Lee's not a girl. He's a gay fox, an activist who never dreamed he'd fall for a football player. As their attraction deepens into romance, it's hard enough for them to handle each other, let alone their inquisitive friends, family, and co-workers.

Would you listen to Out of Position (Dev and Lee) again? Why?

Probably, its a good read. I was particularly intrigued by the use of language. There was never really a dull moment in the writing. A lot of novels can be long winded and over descriptive. This strikes that happy balance. Not too over descriptive, not too dull.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It sure did have its moments. A lot of anticipation, a shock or two. And a satisfying ending.

    Any additional comments?

    I would happily recommend this.

Why do some lengthy sentences flow effortlessly while others stumble along? Why are you captivated by the writing of particular authors? How can you craft sentences that reflect your unique outlook on the world? This lively, 24-lecture course introduces you to the myriad ways in which we think about, talk about, and write sentences. Reviving the sentence-oriented approach to studying writing, Professor Landon provides a greater context for what makes sentences great - and how you can apply these methods to your own writing.

If you could sum up Building Great Sentences: Exploring the Writer's Craft in three words, what would they be?

    Detail, extension, and retooling.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting aspect of this lecture series is probably its initial focus on extending your sentences. It goes into great detail on the subject, and really gets you thinking about how to approach each sentence you write. Not really a huge revelation, but still really interesting, and probably something you never thought too much about.

As for the least interesting part, well that would probably be the fact that its just too long. In the second half things start to get less and less interesting, to the point where I just zoned out and stopped really paying attention.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Some people just have a natural talent for captivating an audiences attention, and professors are generally not in that camp. He did an ok job. I'm not really sure he could have done anything to make it better.

What did you learn from Building Great Sentences: Exploring the Writer's Craft that you would use in your daily life?

Probably nothing, that is to say unless you're a writer or have a passions for writing. I guess if you wanted to explore or expand upon your writing this may have same daily use value, but I think its more directed at people who like to write stories and what not.

    Any additional comments?

If your interested in writing give it a go, you'll probably get something valuable out of it.

Amir wants to meet a guy outside of a bar. Kinzi wants someone who won't cheat on him. Vico just wants a quick lay. In Gateway, when you need to meet someone, there's no one better than sexy, flirty Hayward to get you just what you want - or at least have a good time trying. But when Hayward himself needs someone, who will be there to help?

Would you try another book from Kyell Gold and/or Kyell Gold?

Oh for sure. I enjoy his writing style. I would love to see his whole catalog on hear.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It was good, but it could have been more engaging.

Could you see Bridges being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I think it would make for an interesting concept. Considering the quality of film and television today, I'd rather not see this work abused by Hollywood.

    Any additional comments?

It was good, but it could have been more engaging. The problem with Bridges is simple. I wish there was more of it. More context overall. More depth to the characters. More of the story. Something about it just felt rushed. You can clearly see all of the interesting paths laid out, but they don't seem to go very far. Overall I'd say, if you like Kyell's work, you should pick this one up. While your at it go buy Green Fairy :3

His teammates, who suspect his sexuality already, won't make it easy for him.

What did you like best about this story?

I'm not even sure where to begin with this one. Everything about this story is 10 layers deep. I don't want to say too much, because every detail is just so engrossing. It held my attention from start to finish, and not once did I feel board. As someone who is no stranger to the impending feeling of hopelessness life sometimes brings us, I felt very much for the main character. I was saddened, and even angry on his behalf. My feelings were a direct projection of how he himself felt about the book Confession. This is something I think everyone should read, and I think it could be appreciated but just about anyone. I strongly recommend it.

Which character – as performed by Jay Maxwell – was your favorite?

He did a really good job with all of them. The protagonist was probably best preformed, but I liked mostly all of them.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole thing really. It resonated very well with me.
