Beneath the brilliance that was behind The Age of Innocence and Ethan Frome was a dark side. A dark side which produced magnificent tales of the unseen influences in our lives, such as "Mr. Jones", "The Eyes", "Kerfol", "The Ladie's Maid's Bell", and "The Looking Glass".

Would you listen to Ghosts: Edith Wharton's Gothic Tales again? Why?

I would definitely listen to Ghosts again. It was a fun listen and I plan to share it with others.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that the stories were short and the plots were almost innocent in nature. All I had to do was sit back and enjoy.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Edith Wharton's classics before and she did not disappoint with her fun Gothic Tales.

If you could take any character from Ghosts: Edith Wharton's Gothic Tales out to dinner, who would it be and why?

    Definitely Mr. Jones! LOL

    Any additional comments?

If you are looking for a quick break from your normal reads, this is a great book to distract you.

So what would Al Gore choose if he had a book club? Gore named Stendhal's The Red and the Black, a 19th century classic chock full of adultery, betrayal, and moral vacuity, as his favorite book on a recent broadcast of Oprah. It's a bit shocking of a choice, given his wife and running mate's position on clean, wholesome literature. Listen and decide for yourself the merit of this presidential pick.

Slaves of Sleep is an L. Ron Hubbard tale of parallel worlds - one of the first in modern fantasy. Cursed with "eternal wakefulness", and imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, Jan Palmer is living in two worlds. On Earth, he is a prisoner, and in the land of the Jinn, he is "Tiger", the swashbuckling rogue - but in both, he faces death at every turn.

What did you like best about 'Slaves of Sleep' and 'The Masters of Sleep'? What did you like least?

I like the characters, but the story was so unbelievable my suspense was not held for very long.

What could L. Ron Hubbard have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Provide more transition when switching into different worlds and develop the dream world more

What does Rene Auberjonois bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brought the Characters alive and made a dull story interesting.

Did 'Slaves of Sleep' and 'The Masters of Sleep' inspire you to do anything?

    No
