Another great book in this series and more harpies to enjoy. I'm totally addicted and facing the final book that's available here. I'm crossing my fingers (toes, arms, legs, etc) that more will be available soon.

I've really enjoyed everything about this world and will definitely be seeking out more Gena Showalter books.

Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy’s athletic prowess, Carolyn is gaining an - um - intimate knowledge of her new neighbor's nocturnal adventures. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed "dating hiatus," and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor.

I agree with the people who said the book was way longer than it needed to be and also the person who said it wasn't 'hot' enough. There was so much stuff crammed into this book that didn't need to be there if you just wanted the love story between the H and h. Maybe the author should have written a prequel or something to cover all the other people in the story or just left their stories in their books.

The main H and h in the story don't even make out till well past the halfway point of the book and don't have p/v sex until the very end.

Finally, the narrator: she was ok, but by no means great. My one big problem with her was during the sexual parts, she picked up speed (which is fine to convey excitement, etc) but then you could hear her inhale these long loud breaths before she rushed out with the next line and it got SO obnoxious.

Unless you like a lot of build-up for a tepid outcome, I'd recommend skipping this one.

I had high hopes for this book and unfortunately it failed to come even close to meeting them. To begin with you're dropped into the middle of a battle where you have no idea what's happening or why. It's explained later but it wasn't a great way to start the story. I also felt no chemistry between the H and h. His supposed prejudices were mentioned but never really showed when working with her. There was some supposed biological reason he was having difficulty "resisting" her but there was never any seeming urgency nor any attempts at self control from him. Finally a relatively minor gripe... where ever this author got the names she used... "Crookshank" and "Zoltan", she should really rethink. I won't be persuing this series further.

What would you give up for everything? Tristan Stone was powerful, commanding, and sex incarnate. And he wore it all so well. From the moment his mesmerizing gaze met mine, I had no choice but surrender to everything he was. His power. His decadence. His passion. He was all I never knew I needed. He wanted to possess me, and I wanted to be his everything. All I had to do was accept what he offered. But everything has a price.

I was fooled by the good reviews on this one. Some of my favorite reviewers said this was a good book so I got it and man do I regret it.

The book started off confusing as all get out. It's like love at first sight for the woman and the guy's a standoffish prick. She asks questions, he doesn't answer them or answers them with another question. She lives in New York and is stupid enough to get in his car, at night, alone, in an alley after never having done more than lock eyes with him. Seriously. I should have just stopped the book there.

She's whiney, selfish and has no self confidence despite being told over and over by her friend and the male in the story that she's beautiful, etc. He's is too quiet, doesn't talk about anything useful so there's no getting to know him and he does these stupid things without any kind of explanation which makes her whineyness just get worse.

I almost always finish a book, even if I hate it. But I could barely sit through half this one. I'm probably not going to finish it and even if I did, there's just about no way it can redeem its self at this point.

Finally the narrator has this awful nasal voice. I don't know if she's got a cold or what but I can't imagine anyone choosing to have her read a book to them. That already nasal-whine makes the whiney voice and demeanor of the female character twice as bad and is just grating on my nerves at this point. Erg. Can you tell I'm frustrated?

When empath Jade Calhoun moves into an apartment above a strip bar on Bourbon Street, she expects life to get interesting. What she doesn't count on is making friends with an exotic dancer, attracting a powerful spirit, and developing feelings for Kane, her sexy landlord. Being an empath has never been easy on Jade's relationships. It's no wonder she keeps her gift a secret. But when the ghost moves from spooking Jade to terrorizing Pyper, the dancer, it's up to Jade to use her unique ability to save her.

This is a tough book for me to review. It was ok. It kept me interested enough to keep listening to it through the end. But I had figured out 'the bad guy' the first time he was mentioned in the book... which was very early on. Jade was very slow to pick up on things and stubbornly refused to share things with people or ask questions about things she noticed. She jumped into things without finding out enough about them before hand. It was just frustrating. I'm torn on whether or not to listen to the next one.

These letters are often all that get me through week to week. Even if it’s just random stuff, nothing important, they’re important to me. Gramps is great, and I love working on the ranch. But…I’m lonely. I feel disconnected, like I’m no one, like I don’t belong anywhere. Like I’m just here until something else happens. I don’t even know what I want with my future. But your letters, they make me feel connected to something, to someone.

This first book was good, though I hate the cliffhanger endings that authors are putting in multi-part books now. I enjoyed the story very much. I love the relationship between Cade and Ever. It was very emotional both happy and sad and the ending was just gut wrenching.

The multi-voiced narration didn't really do much for me, but it wasn't too much of a distraction either. I felt like Piper Goodeve could have done a better job. The way she pronounced certain words drove me up a wall for the first half of the book. Either I got sucked in and didn't notice or she got better as time went on.

However, when I found out that the other 2 books weren't on Audible, I started poking around to see if they had been published, then started looking at ratings on Good Reads. Both the next 2 books are rated very low. So I started reading some of the reviews and with those, got spoilers.

I won't spoil for anyone cuz that's not fair; but for myself, I don't think I can continue with the rest of the series knowing what's going to happen from here. If I'd gone blindly into the rest of this series I'd have been really angry. Now at least if I do choose to read, I won't be blindsided. I don't usually encourage people to look for spoilers, but in this case it might be something to think about.

Colton stole my heart. He wasn't supposed to, and I sure as hell didn't want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist. Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don't think I'll ever be the same. She's seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she's still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint and I am most definitely the sinner.

In some ways this trilogy was like 50 Shades. It featured a similarly broken man and the woman who keeps trying to fix him no matter how much of an ass he is.

I felt like a boomerang throughout the entire trilogy. It got very, very annoying with him pushing her away and her coming back even after she swore she couldn't take it anymore.

The author tossed 'Dominant' and 'Submissive' in here and there as if being emotionally abused is what BDSM is about.

The overuse of the word Soul continued here. Needless to say I'd have died of alcohol poisoning by the end if I had been playing a drinking game.

The male narrator here did not do a good job with voices at all.

If you can't tell, I'm pretty torn about how to feel about these books. I had to settle on 'They were ok'. But I'm still annoyed. I can't say I'd recommend these books very highly unless all you're looking for is decent sex.

You must overcome all your fears, confront the demons that chase you, and cleanse the poison that clings to your soul or you risk the chance of losing everything. Mine started the minute Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet. She made me feel. Made me whole when all I thought I could ever be was incomplete. Became the lifeline I never knew I needed. Hell yes, she's worth the fight - but how do you fight for someone you know you don't deserve?

This first book ends on a cliff hanger so big, there was no way I could leave it, despite having not liked the book very much. So I bought the other two. I can't come up with many words to tell you about this book. I've read romance since I was 13 and this may be the absolute best book I've ever experienced.

If you're more into light romances or more into erotica, don't bother with this. It's not light and there's not much sex. It's a roller coaster, it's real and completely believable, it's harsh and painful and joyous.

If that doesn't scare you off, I can't imagine you will feel sorry about getting this book.

I so wish I'd read more reviews rather than just going forward with buying this book because it sounded interesting. The story is OK, but it references characters who develop in books from other series' and it's a bit hard to follow plus is spoiler-y because I'm reading some of the other series but haven't gotten through to some of the things this book gives away.

However, the worst thing IN THE WORLD is the swallowing and wet goopy mouth sounds of the narrator. I'm halfway through the book and am so tired of hearing her smack her lips and swallow that I wish she was nearby so I could strangle her. I came to look and see if there's a kindle version of this book so I can finish reading it myself.

    Yuck.
