I recently got Dr Hyman's 10 day detox and it was the right time for me with this book. I feel great and knew it was not a ten day thing and I was done with the all the diets incl weight watchers. Tortorich explaination of the calorie and the difference between a calorie of sugar and one of fat, the weight lost industry hype. Not done listening but definitely something I will finish and probably listen to again. I like listening to Vinnie like it is a conversation.
I know this became popular again after his murder but he was truly a patriot and we were lucky to have him when we did. The unfortunate is all countries need his skills. His description of war was very intense and tragic that we have to send our young to that. It was a good forthright account from his perspective. I am sorry he is gone.
Kind of slow and unreal in some parts and it mixes reality and out there. Would NEVAH gone over to ridge to find Oscar.
or I am very lucky to know people like this. It is not over until the fat lady sings and you are in control of your life. Live it. I do like Hoda's voice
My favorite book is 100 Years of Solitude, this book ranks up there leaving a lasting memory of the characters in you mind and especially Owen with all his quirkiness and character.
The thought provoking ideas of drones and where it could go.
Characters were all good with the exception of McKinney but that had more to do with the character than his performance.
Better than the book
Weaker than Freedom and Daemon but good because Mr. Suarez's books are intelligent and technologically possible. The McKinney character was nauseating. Her logic did not make sense and and she was WHINNEY! I did not want to put down at times but her character in the begining made me want to shut it off.
practical, take the emotion out of it, advice on what you keep and what you let go.
The most interesting aspect is the emotional connections we have to 'THINGS" we may not want, need, or care about but we keep housing, storing, and someday, someday, we will use for this or that, that never really happens.
Have applied a lot of it, such as the simple one of having a place for things as soon as you walk in door and going through closets and ridding myself of things I have not used in years. The most difficult thing was donating my mothers hutch that she wanted for so long and was so proud to have gotten. It's OK, I still have all the wonderful memories.
Recommended to friend - he likes to fold his towels like that now.
Yes because I loved Marcus Samuelsson telling his story.
The sincerity in in voice, his openess and disclosure of his struggles and achievements, felt a connection with his family values.
It made me think and understand the world of chef's better.
Chef's are truly impressive people.
