"Couldn't stop listening"
Molly Harper, YOU ROCK!!! I have listened to each of her books numerous times, and LOVE each of them. I was afraid to start another series, because I just knew it could not be as good as the first. WRONG-O!
I LOVED this book! I laughed so hard at the Baby Beluga story, my husband hushed me! He will never understand.
Thank you, Molly, for giving a nod to our friends back in the Hollow, and I hope we have not heard our last out of Jane!
I know there is another book coming out very soon, and my finger is on the BUY button! As with all of Molly's books, I was let down when it was over, because I knew it would be some time before I could get another one. Excellent guilty pleasure book!!!
"PLEASE RELEASE THE REST OF THE MAIN STREET BOOKS!"
yes and no. I love to hold a book in my hand, but when we drive, or when my girls are in bed, they don't have to stop reading when the lights are out. Also, for my younger child, she can
Without giving too much away, it is when 3 of the girls decide to make a special Christmas for someone who, without them, Christmas might have been lost forever. It's written in such a special way that shows compassion without pity.
I have listened to all the Main Street books available at Audible (see title of this post). The best thing, I think you can say about a reader is that she is very consistant. Her pace, characters, and voice quality are consistant, and that leads to a very favorable experience. This is so important when you are dealing with younger children who are not forgiving when someone changes a character's voice from one book to another.
Christmas in Camden Falls will forever be changed this year, but will it be for the better?
I urge all mothers to listen to these books with there tweenagers. Ms. Martin brings up adult themes (bullying, divorce, death, aging, special needs children, race and others) in a sensitive and positive way. These books lead to lively conversations with your children at an age when they might otherwise be tuning you out. It's a great way to see where they stand on issues, without having to ask direct questions. Thank you Ms. Martin! Please, Audible, add the other books in this series!
