"Excellent Book"
Really great storey. Was very interesting learning about who and what Jesse Owens was about. Worth reading. Good narration.
"Good Info, Knowledgeable Doctor"
This book is worth reading but I think for a larger overview Eat for Life, by the same author is better. It's actually worth reading both.
I expected more detailed information about the process of increasing ones immunity and how long it would take in different scenarios to overcome a weak immune system.
The narrator put me off a bit because he does not read smoothly and some sentences don't make sense because he stumbles and does not put the emphasis in the proper place.
I've read and studied a lot about nutrition and this book is one of the better ones. Its grounded on information from real studies, unlike the bloodtype diet book that is not based on any science and other books like it (ie, the zone, pritkin, metabolic typing, etc.)
Read
No. He has a nice voice but stumbles a lot and does not read smoothly.
What were they thinking when they let this book be published with this idiot reading.
Job Opening: We're looking for a narrator that can read.
It's still tolerable to listen to even if some of the sentences don't make proper sense and even though some words are very akwardly pronounced.
"Excellent Book, Great Story"
This was a great listen. Narrator is good and the story is really good. I didnt' actually find it too inspiring as far as running goes but it was inspiring for getting through any tough and challenging situation in life.
Really good book.
"An Inspiring Story that is not Overly Inspiring"
Meb seems to be a pretty down to Earth guy and it is amazing how he ended up getting out of poverty in Etheopia but was his family really poverty stricken there? I wish he had of filled in more details about how bad or not badly off his family was in Etheopia and a few more details of how his father was able to get the to USA. I don't think his story is that much more extrodinary than any other immigrant coming to North Amercia and getting a job and succeeding at something. He just happened to be a runner who made it because he was talented. Sort of boring at times but also interesting sometimes. Not a stellar book but not a bad listen.
"Oh My God is this Boring (like the narrator)"
If you are interested in these kind of books I would recommend something else instead. The Hicks info is nothing new. If you want a better book which is more facinating, provocative and helful and one that will really alter your perspective on life and what life is I would recommend two authors - Jane Roberts "The Seth Books" and Kenneth George Mills. Jerry Hicks claims passion about what his wife is channeling but I have never heard such a boring narrator and a voice lacking in passion. They also talk about the special use of their language. Theiir language is nothing special. If you want High info then listen or read Kenneth G. Mills - he is the only "channeler" that uses very high language and in so doing is able to communicate very high truths. The Hicks are regular, nothing special and I had to stop listening it was so bad.
"Fantastic Book"
This book is really really good. The author presents the information in a very objective way and based on a lot of reasearch. The book is a hundred times better and more interesting than Michael Pollans books. One of the most interesting and well written books I've read on the subject. Its also been translated into several other languages all ready.
"Interesting"
A very interesting book and at times over my head. I actually couldn't finish it becasue got a little bored with it. I could never figure out why they think they will ever discover the beginning of the universe. If that is discovered then what is before that?
"Fairlyl Entertaining"
I liked the way the author interwove some natural history with his story but would have found it more interesting and more entertaining if there was more about his walking through the woods. Sometimes I found it a little slow when he'd "side-track". I didnt' find it as funny as other reviewers did.
"Really good book."
I bought the abridged version as recommended by another reader. It was well narrated and very interesting, easy to follow. It was the sort of info that can help someone who wants to invest or start investing but isn't sure where to begin. I've read other investing books and have done a little investing with stocks. This book gave me some valuable info on how to proceed with growth investing. I bought the paper back and am now reading it. It is good as well. Another book which I found exceptional for investing info is "The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing" by Jason Kelly. His newsletter is worth signing up for as well.
"Interesting Info but..."
The first have of this book was pretty interesteding but the second half became pretty boring. The author seemed to be fixated on certain ideas which was strange because it was like he was critizing others for doing the same thing he was doing....he thinks his info is all fact. This book was well narrated but was somewhat of a dissapointment. Some of it was helpful as well. If it didnt' become so boring I would have rated it higher.
