With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover, Eric Northman, and his "child", Pam, are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot - which is much more complicated than she knows.

I was so disappointed in this Sookie installment. The only things that actually happened in this book were predictable and poorly developed. I love reading a series but only when each book is an entire book, not just a small part of one novel broken into pieces to sell more.

He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart - until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland.

If you like a predictable Harlequin romance, read it. Otherwise, don't bother. It follows the common theme found in all novels written in 45 minutes - the most beautiful virgin meets the well-hung handsome man and they spend the whole book not realizing the other one loves them.
