"Better than Expected"
Real surprise endiing
You didn't even have a clue what was going on until pretty far in the story. It was fun to discover clues along with the main character.
Easir to listen than to read sometimes.
What's really going on?
"It was OK, mostly like the others/"
It was time "OK" spent. The story line is no longer as fresh or novel as it used to be.
Most interesting was a certain concept about an island in Lake Michigan. Least interesting? Lots and lots of dialoge about the winter and summer "ladies".
No favorite.
God no. It would be boring as hell.
The earlier books in the series were way better.
"If you don't figure it out, it'll get you!"
It took a long time to figure out what the monster was, and how to try and defeat it. Koontz gave clues, but not obvious ones. Made the story more interesting.
The pace at which it developed.
When the were talking to the monster via computer terminals.
I'd take the English guy who wrote the book (book title "The Ancient Enemy")
Good, solid Koontz book. You can't go wrong.
"Good start, couldn't keep going"
It would have been better for me if the story line was stronger. Off to a great start, then I lost interest.
Keep the story line at a more active level. It doesn't work for me when it opens with a "bang" then peters out to mundane details.
Yeah, his voice was OK.
Sorry I bought it. I was expecting more.
No.
"Boring"
More action. Less character building.
No, I still like end of the world stuff.
Yes, the characters were all different, but that was most of the story. I couldn't finish it.
Don't know.
Way to slow moving for me. Gave up about 1/3 of the way through.
"Entertaining"
It was time well spent. The story was different enough, and I liked the performance.
Yes, I would try another one from him.
It all blends together, but it kept up a good pace.
Don't know.
You'll like it. It's entertaining.
"Unusual story line--kept up my interest."
Yes, I'd recommend it. The plot is released a little at a time, and it's not easy to figure out.
Don't remember his name, but he was the main character. Why? Don't know--he was likeable.
Not sure, but he was a good narrator.
I wouldn't make a film of ths one. It's a good story to read or listen to.
Give it a try. 80% of the story is really good. Like many stories, the 'punchline' could have been better, but it wasn't bad.
"Could only take 5 minutes"
The narrator using a 'regular' voice and accent
No sure, I listen to a lot of them
I don't know them by name.
Didn't listen to the story.
If you like listening to a Southern "Mark Twain" kind of accent, maybe you will like this one.
"It's OK"
I wouldn't say it was time well spent, but then again I listened to the stories while I was walking so the time was well spent anyway (if that makes any sense).
I litened to Volume I, and this was not quite as good. Maybe because the typical story line started getting old for me. Both Volume I and II contain 3 or 4 short stories with the same main character, and same basic premise.
Not sure.
Not really.
Volume I was a bit better I think.
"Not for me"
I don't think I would.
Seemed to float along without any character developement. I lost interest.
Just plain regular.
Lots of the in-between filler scenes.
Maybe someone else would like it, but I didn't. Didn't finish listening to it.
