It's Dan Calebow's worst nightmare: Phoebe Somerville, a trendy New York knockout, inherits the Chicago Stars, the football team he coaches. And she wants to help him run it. Phoebe's sure he needs her. He's a sexist good-ol'-boy jock with a one-track mind. Surely she can straighten him out.

    "Great Book."

The story about Phoebe and Dan is great and funny. Well worth a credit.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The book was ok until the ending. That was such a disappointment.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Not sure yet

How could the performance have been better?

The story was ok, but the ending was really dumb and I want a little more intelligent approach.

What character would you cut from Divergent?

    None.

    Any additional comments?

Spoiler***** if the divergent can be found by giving them the tracking device and see if they are turning into mindless mutants why then the whole hide and seek play of having to find the divergent that are hiding to begin with? They can not hide if you give them the tracking device.... if they do not turn into mindless mutants then you can just kill them...Super stupid!!!!!

Born above his grandfather’s modest restaurant in Mumbai, Hassan first experienced life through intoxicating whiffs of spicy fish curry, trips to the local markets, and gourmet outings with his mother. But when tragedy pushes the family out of India, they console themselves by eating their way around the world, eventually settling in Lumière, a small village in the French Alps.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I usually like books from Susan Elizabeth Phillips, but her last works are just not up to snuff. If you like drag along books that have no real story line... This book is for you.

What could Susan Elizabeth Phillips have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Susan Elizabeth Phillips is missing her spark. Usually her books are much more insightful and have a better story line. I expect better work from her...have bought every one of her books and have to say that her earlier books are much better. I am not sure if I will buy another one from her.... I was not even able to finish listening to this one..it just did not keep my attention at all. What a waste of a credit.

What about Shannon Cochran’s performance did you like?

She has a good voice and tried to make the best of this book...I bet she was glad when she was done reading the boring thing and threw a party. :-)

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was able to listen to 2/3 of the book and after that I could not force myself to finish it. My reaction was to be disappointed that Susan Elizabeth Phillips seems to be going downhill.

    Any additional comments?

Use your credit on something else.. you will regret using it on this one for sure unless you like boring and drag along stories that have no real story lines and is just plain old dumb.

The man was more than Leslie could handle! She'd expected a lot of publicity for Dr. Peter Havistock - the hunk had survived a plane crash when he was a kid, spent nearly 14 years living with a stone-age tribe in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, and returned to civilization to write a best-selling book about it. But his tour of colleges was getting wild. Then he announced on Harry King Live that he was a virgin! And that he was looking for a wife! And that he'd like to marry HER! Something had to give.

I can't tell you much about the book as the narration was so terrible that I could not force myself to listen more than to one chapter. It sounds like the narrator has a mouth full of spit or lips either way save your credits for another book.
