First let me say Kudos to the job the narrators did – considering the awful material. I have waited a long time for this book and have read the entire Alex Cross series - this book was neither terrifying nor emotional. It is a true let down. I am, well was, a Patterson fan, but wonder if he receives endorsements for the corporate name dropping in his recent books and with no apparent reason in the story line. If you are a Patterson fan and you really need to know what happens to Alex - you may want to consider waiting until this book gets to the clearance bins, trust me, you aren't missing anything. Sorry Mr. Patterson - you have lost a loyal reader!
Better plot -
Not the genre, but the author
Not Elisabeth's fault it was a horrible story
I am a Scott Brick fan, but for whatever reason -- the over dramatic style of his ready was awful! I have been enjoyed the Michael Koryta Lincoln Perry mystery; but I had to stop the audio book mid-way due to the narration....
I agree with the other reviewers when they said that Scott Brick distracted from the story... maybe someday I'll return to the book... right now, I'm Scott Bricked out!
No, it was not well spent. I was very disappointed in the narrator and the storyline. It is very unoriginal.
Awful imitation of females; monotone reading and just plain flat.
No, but I needed closure...
I agree with Karen -- the book went on forever and ever and ever.... agonizing details, etc.... great narrator, just could not get into the premise.
No, I won't be reading, er listening to any more Dan Brown.
I enjoyed the DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons so I was hopeful this would be as thrilling! *Yawn* - it was awful, I waiting for it to get exciting, after 3/4 of the way thru... I decided that I would just finish what I started. Narrator is excellent.
Wow! This was a major disappointment for James Grippando - I'm glad that I used a credit on this one..I actually contemplated asking for a refund of my credit. Talk about unoriginal and boring. Did he just read the papers; cut and paste into a "book/novel"... seriously? You have lost a fan Mr. Gripppando.
I'm new to David Bladacci and was blown away with Absolute Power. This was my second book and it was very, very disappointing. It was just bad the whole story line, plot -- so bland.
I've waited a long time for a Boliter (audio) book and am a HUGE Coben fan; but I, too, am struggling to listen to the remainder of the book. I agree with the others - no offense, Mr. Weber, but you may have wanted to listen to the previous Coben audiobooks to understand how to bring the Myron and others to life. The plot....ehhh - this is not one of Coben's best.....next! Seriously disappointed......
I also agree with some of the other reviewers -- I enjoyed Barbara Robsenblatt's voice in Scottoline’s “Daddy’s Girl”, so I purchased this book. Her performance was not the same -- all of her voice changes to fit the characters...and that sucking noise -- ugh.
As far as the story -- it just dragged on and on...I kept waiting for the storyline to 'grab me' and keep me interested ....never happened. The immaturity of the main character was very difficult to get past -- I don’t think I’ll be wasting any more time with this author.
I agree with the above reviewer. I was disappointed -- this story line was weak. I have (almost) read all of the Bosch stories also and was anticipating this release, but it just isn't up to par.
Kudos to narrator....
