In the postapocalyptic Midwest, now a ravaged dust bowl, former guardsman Derek Covington must find help for a sick boy. With nothing but memories of all he lost, Derek crosses the desert alone in search of the doctor who saved his own life 10 years ago. Drifter gangs who loot and pillage don't dare come near, for Derek has a formidable weapon: a prosthetic arm with a deadly blade. For a decade, Dr. Lidia Sullivan has fantasized about the handsome guardsman who'd been in her care. And now she can't deny his dangerous request.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

What amazes me is how books like this get published in the 1st place.

What could Ella Drake have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The detailed sex parts reflect the authors own fantasy. It doesn't fit well or belong.

Would you be willing to try another one of Reay Kaplan’s performances?

If it is books like this, no.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointement.

When a disabled spaceship enters Earth's atmosphere, seven members of the advanced Tosok race are welcomed by the world. Then a popular scientist is murdered, and all evidence points to one of the Tosoks. Now, an alien is tried in a court of law -and there may be far more at stake than accounting for one human life.

What disappointed you about Illegal Alien?

The author has his personal liberal political and grandiose views of the U.N. threaded through out the story. Many boring parts that are reminiscent of a Perry Mason TV show.

Would you be willing to try another book from Robert J. Sawyer? Why or why not?

No. Authors delusions of Grandiose liberalism don't jive with reality.

What didn’t you like about Joe Barrett’s performance?

Joe Barrett story reading was the only thing that kept me listening to the whole story.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    No
