This was a great story with lots of characters and so entertaining. The narrator did a great job with using a different voice for the characters. A good narrator is so important to any audio book and it brings the story alive. Was interesting having characters from the first two books included.

Another great book by Cathy Hake. I loved this story. It was interesting from beginning to the end and the narrator is one of the best ever. Her voice changes all the time and she is so expressive. Great author.

This has to be one of the very best series I have ever listened to. I wish Gilbert Morris would just keep on following each Freeman family member forever. I wanted to cry when it ended. The story was great but listening to it on cd was wonderful. I have listened to hundreds of Audio Books but I have to say that Judith West was the best narrator I have ever heard. She made the book come alive and she had a different voice for each character. I listen to audio books only while traveling back and forth in my car and I hated to turn it off every day when I pulled into the garage. So so good.

I loved Book 2 in the Singing River Series. I like it when the books in a series follow the same people. All the characters are wonderful and the narrator brings everyone of them to life with her voice. She has a different voice for each character and it is so good. Can't wait to start Book #3. Gilbert Morris is a great author.

At the beginning of this story I really thought it was going to be to depressing to listen to. So much tragedy. But I am so glad I stayed with it. Wonderful story and I loved the language used. Fantastic narrator. I am now enjoying the second book in this series.

Courting Miss Amsel was a delightful story and the narrator was fantastic. She had a different voice for each character and I love it when a narrator does this. I could picture each character in my mind just by the way the narrator changed her voice. Looking for more audio books with Laurie Birmingham as narrator.

I normally don't listen to stories that have a western theme, but I am so glad I listened to this one. The story was so very, very good. The narrator was one of the best I have ever heard. Her expression and change of voices for each character brought the story to life as if I could see it all. Stories with an underdog always tear at my heartstrings. The only thing I did not like was the word Whore, repeated many times. Even though the word fit, I felt like it was crude for a Christian book.
