This was my first Lynn Austin book so I had no idea what to expect. Ms. Austin is a very good writer, weaving gospel into a very fun and adventurous story. The main character was so annoying at first but as she learned more about life, God and herself she began to change. Two cautions, first the ending seemed very rushed to me and left me with some unanswered questions, definitely wanted more. Secondly, I would have loved to see more development with the romance. If you like Christian novels and a fun story that keeps you wanting more I would recommend this book.
I have been a fan of this series for years, it is one of my favorite of all time. I think Sara Donati did a wonderful job ending this series, it was perfect. Ms. Donati is so talented, I hope she will do an new series sometime. Kate Reading is by far my favorite narrator, so the combination is the best. If you have never read this series I highly recommend it, you will not be dissappointed.
I was excited to read this book, it looked cute and I listen to lots of christian books. This one fell short of my expecations. The author spent to much time delving into the problems of both leads of the book. The idea of the story was fun, but all energy seemed to go into talking about their demons and very little time into the plot. I would look for another read and not spend my money on this one.
I like most of Kristen Heitzmann's books. At first I wasn't sure if I would like this book, The hero whinned way to much. The story is intreging and ended up keeping me very engaged. I loved how everything came together at the end of the book. While not Heitzmann's best book, it is worth the read, especially if you like very clean books with "faith" as the underlying theme.
While there were several good story lines in the book, they were to disjointed for me. So many characters that I didn't get a chance to get involved. If the author would have built the story around just a couple of the story lines I would have enjoyed the book. I was in the fifth CD before I figured out any kind of a plot.
For those Pride and Prejudice lovers, the idea of this book is tempting, but don't be fooled, it isn't worth your time or money. The book has no depth at all. That would be okay if you wanted a very light read, but it isn't very much fun either.
Most of it is pretty boring, but there are some humorous moments. I'm just glad that it was only five discs. I could have never made it through more.
I was very disappointed and I would recommend that you pass this one up.
I liked A Rush of Wings. I thought the author did a good job delving into personal faith and the struggle people have understanding it and allowing their faith to give them the strength they need to carry on. I thought the author was realistic and not idealistic regarding faith.
While I enjoyed the book I can't say that it was one of those books that I will remember for a long time. It was probably more of an average book; the the author is an average writer and the narriator as well.
This is my first DeMille book and I was looking forward to listening to a new author. The first of the book had me hooked, it started great. But then I wondered, as I kept listening, if there was going to be any action. I was very dissappointed in the lack of much happening thoughout the story. I did like the authors insite into how others may view Americans and I agree that Demille can write well. I just wish it hadn't gotten so tedious. I think there are better author and doubt I will indulge in another DeMille book. Scott Brick is an awesome narriator!
