"May be better read when you can check footnotes"
This book is filled with so many claims and data, I kept wanting to see the source of the information.
"Jefferson's life deserved a better book"
I loved the insights into Jefferson's life, but the story telling left much to be desired. It was easy to put this down, and forget you were reading it. Unlike JOHN ADAMS, which I found riveting, this writing did not keep me engaged. However, it is well worth reading to learn more about a fascinating man, who's personality and choices live in our daily lives because of the impact he made to the country. The author, with his resources, could have done a much better job. I felt like he read kept reading through his notes and said, "Oh, I forgot to add this, so I'll pop it in here."
"I did not enjoy this book"
I didn't find this book funny or interesting. It is a book in which nothing happens, no suspense is built, and has no likeable characters. I didn't crack a smile - maybe I just missed the whole point. I forced myself to listen to the end hoping to find something to redeem my time and credits, but found nothing.
"Enjoyable and honest"
This book was a great break from my usual reading. It's very current and honest. Ms. Johnston's reading is exceptional and entertaining, as many other commenters have mentioned.
"Nice, short, informative"
This book does a nice job of telling what you see at the Petrified Forest and how it got there.
"Seems like a lot of hyperbole"
This book is interesting enough, and if it inspires anyone to eat healthier then it is well worth listening to. The author makes huge, sweeping statements throughout and I just kept thinking, "is that really true?" I listened to it, but I have a feeling that in the written book there are lots of exclamation points! I think he's writing for the popular market, and seems to have done that well enough, I would have enjoyed a more thoughtful, balanced look at diet and benefits of grain. As other reviewers have said, if you want to stop eating wheat, this book will probably get you to do it, at least for a few weeks, but from scare tactics.
"Catching my breath! Not finished yet!"
If you need motivation, get this. Plan on taking small bites. Tiny steps. It is good but frankly, overwhelming. I lost weight and saved money after just listening to 17 minutes of this.
"I tried. I really tried."
I just couldn't get into this book. It seemed imaginative and is very well written. After many hours, I just didn't care how it ended.
"Neil Armstrong versus Meriwether Lewis? and Clark?"
I was listening to the last three hours of this book when the news of Neil Armstrong's death was in the news. I have yet to be able to compare the similarities and differences in their discoveries. The most courageous explorer? The most heroic? The best leader? Who will be remembered 200, 2000, 20,000 years from now? Undaunted Courage is a wonderful book. I enjoyed every minute. EVERY time I grab a bite to eat, I'm going to remember what the Corps of Discovery went through for every meal.
"Excellent book"
I enjoyed how this story reminded me of my first computer at work, my first desktop at home, the first time I used a mouse, my first laptop, my first Apple product. The impact a few people, Steve Jobs being one, have had on my life is entertaininly told in this book. I also enjoyed the behind-the-scenes stories of product development, and relationships between Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and others.
