For the first time on audio, here is number one New York Times best-selling author Karen Marie Moning’s novella Into the Dreaming, a tale of Highland fantasy, star-crossed lovers, and the timeless manipulation of the ancient, immortal Unseelie king. This is Moning at her romantic, funniest finest. Caught in a deadly game between the light and dark courts of the Fae, Jane must find a way through the ice to the heart of her Highander. But will the love of one mortal woman be enough to defeat such ancient and ruthless immortal enemies?

This one is really short. Once it starts, mostly predictable. But its a necessary piece to understand all that happens to enable the Fever series to start. Still worth a listen. Phil does a great job..

Condemned and shunned for black magic, Rachel Morgan has three days to get to the annual witches' conference and clear her name, or be trapped in the demonic ever-after - forever after.

But a witch, an elf, a living vampire, anda pixy in one car, going across the country? Talk about a recipe for certain disaster, even without being the targets for assassination.

What made the experience of listening to Pale Demon the most enjoyable?

This book was definitely better than the last two in my opinion. They've finally resolved the Ivy/Rachel lesbian weirdness stuff. Please don't get me wrong; I have no issues with gay/lesbian pairings. I love Pam and Lafayette from SVM. What was pissing me off was the whole, try it you never know you might like it, crap. It got old really fast. There were some surprises, to include a death I didn't see coming, along with some predictable stuff as well. There are questions left to be answered as well. Several of mine revolve around the Demons and the "Coven" but I won't get into them so I don't leave spoilers. Still worth the price of the audible credit and I will continue with the next book in the series after I finish with Gena Showalter's latest.

What disappointed you about The Outlaw Demon Wails?

Got halfway through Chapter 2 and couldn't take any more. While I can understand the need to change readers for whatever reason, you don't get someone to replace another who sounds like a 13 year old to talk for a 28 yr old characters. In addition, you don't choose someone who cannot do male voices. All of the characters sounded feminine and Jenks sounded like a female chipmunk. While I was willing to listen even with all these issues, the lack of continuity is shameful esp when the same publishing company did the last book and this one. By lack of continuity I mean that names were completely butchered and changed. Piscary was changed to Piss-ca-ree and Minias was changed to minneeus. Totally unacceptable and I will be asking for a refund. My very first one after being with audible for several years.

What was most disappointing about Kim Harrison’s story?

Couldn't finish it due to reader. Have to find time to read the actual book now so I have no idea when I'll find time to do it. I love the convenience of audiobooks because I have a long drive to/from work, but this was unlistenable.

How could the performance have been better?

Zoey is finally home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side, and preparing to face off against Neferet - which would be a whole lot easier if the High Counsel saw the ex-High Priestess for what she really is. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx's gift of a human form, Rephaim and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together - if he can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father's shadow.

Caitlin is no Edwina Wren, but this is MUCH better than jenna or cassandra (books 4-6). Still think there needs to be more difference in the character voices, but at least her voice and inflection is tolerable. She definitely gets bonus points for mostly correct pronunciations, for example sons of erubis and refeim. Getting used to her voice but I still think she sound too young to the parts.

Liked the development of the story line, but was left on a huge cliffy at the end.

And they’ll need it, because Neferet’s not going down without a fight. Chaos reigns at the House of Night.

I like the development of Lenobia's character in this one and the changes in Aurox. Glad this one actually ended at a good point and didnt leave us with a hugh cliffy like the last book.

On a quest to find her sister's killer, Mac is a major player in a deadly game, but with one great advantage: she knows how to find the Sinsar Dubh, an ancient book of magic so dark it corrupts anyone who touches it. What Mac soon discovers is worse than she had imagined. This new narrator is terrible. Most of the females sound the same except for an accent. Old woman Rowena sounds like a kid. And the pronunciations for Rowena and a few others changed as well. The Man's voice is def deeper and more manly, but in the editing it seems like his voice is much louder than the others and it sounds spliced in in places.

    Love the story though.
